Lead technical authority for mainframe modernization: assess legacy environments, design modernization architectures (rehost/refactor/cloud/API enablement), run z/OS/DB2/CICS operations and troubleshooting, plan and execute migrations, integrate DoD security controls, mentor engineers, and produce operational documentation and migration playbooks for DISA/DoD customers.

Manage installation, configuration, patching, and maintenance of mission-critical Oracle databases. Administer Grid Infrastructure, ASM, networking, and backup/recovery (RMAN). Monitor performance, perform tuning and SQL optimization, implement security controls (TDE, OLS, Database Vault, Unified Auditing), support HA/DR, automate operational tasks, remediate vulnerabilities (STIG/RMF), collaborate with devs and cybersecurity, and maintain operational documentation.

Provide mainframe operations and application support across IBM and Unisys environments (OS2200, z/OS, z/VM). Monitor and troubleshoot batch jobs, scheduling (OpCon/BMC), tape systems, and incidents using ITSM tools, perform IPLs, change management, RCA, and coordinate with government and customer personnel. Work 3rd shift and follow DISA processes and SLAs.

Provide senior-level database architecture and engineering for cloud-hosted geospatial systems. Design, optimize, secure, migrate, and sustain relational and non-relational databases. Troubleshoot performance and integrity issues, support DevSecOps/CI-CD integration, backup/recovery, schema updates, and compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, produce documentation, and support deployments and surge investigations in a DoD mission environment.

Provide senior-level administration and sustainment for GEOMAP databases: ensure availability, performance, security, backups/recovery, patching, monitoring, troubleshooting, change implementation, and documentation across dev/test/staging/production while collaborating with software, cloud, DevSecOps, testing, and support teams.

Provide senior systems engineering and architecture leadership for the GEOMAP platform, supporting cloud-hosted, containerized, and mission application environments. Responsibilities include design, integration, modernization, technical assessments, troubleshooting, cross-team coordination, architecture reviews, documentation, and ensuring security and sustainment aligned with Air Force operational requirements.

Provide senior SRE expertise to improve reliability, scalability, performance, and resilience of a cloud-hosted geospatial platform. Design monitoring/observability, automate deployments, support incident response, optimize capacity and performance, and collaborate across DevSecOps, Kubernetes, database, and support teams in a mission-focused DoD environment.

Lead database modernization and migration efforts for legacy Oracle EBS environments into cloud-native, transactional relational databases. Update environment assessments, architecture, and roadmaps; implement designs across development and pre-production; develop migration execution strategies; support cloud-native builds, ZT/ICAM integration, batch and real-time ingestion; provide technical direction, documentation, and training to support DoD/federal modernization and database upgrade activities.

Design, develop, and maintain automated functional, performance, and security test scripts for the GEOMAP platform. Integrate tests into CI/CD using government-approved tools, convert manual tests to automation, perform regression/performance/interoperability testing, maintain traceability and test artifacts, collaborate with Scrum teams, support government third-party testing, and participate in defect triage and root cause analysis.

Serve as senior SME for migrating MOCAS from Cincom SUPRA hierarchical DB and flat files to a cloud-native relational database. Lead architecture, ERD design, data migration planning/validation, cloud deployment (AWS/Azure/GCP), API integration, CI/CD support, and collaboration with architects, DevSecOps, and cybersecurity teams. Present technical decisions in government reviews and support systems engineering, interoperability, and Zero Trust principles.
