Build and maintain cloud-native applications and services for Akamai’s IaaS platform. Develop platform features from requirements through design, testing, and deployment; integrate Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies; collaborate with product owners, architects, developers, and test engineers in an Agile continuous-delivery environment. The role focuses on creating scalable, reliable, secure platforms that simplify product development and user experience.

Oversee global data center network and server infrastructure operations. Deploy, repair, install, and decommission servers, storage systems, routers, switches, cabling, firmware, and software. Collaborate with management, engineering, product management, quality engineering, and SRE teams while providing technical direction rather than primarily developing software.

Develop and maintain high-reliability, high-throughput backend systems for managing security certificates and configurations. Responsibilities include designing scalable systems, building features, optimizing performance, working with relational and NoSQL databases, and collaborating with testing and SQA teams on deployments. The role requires project-based experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Angular, Terraform, SQL, Linux/Unix, and database technologies.

Serves as a dedicated technical advisor for enterprise customers using Akamai cloud and edge compute solutions. Partners with engineering and business teams to align Akamai technologies with customer requirements, provides technical expertise, tracks account activity, and presents solutions to diverse audiences.

Designs scalable, secure, resilient cloud and data architectures for high-volume services. Evaluates cloud technologies, develops reusable Terraform infrastructure and automation, and serves as a database architecture expert for PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Redis, and Valkey. Builds prototypes and reference implementations, designs highly available distributed database systems, coaches engineers, partners with product and SRE teams, and converts validated concepts into production-ready architecture patterns.

Supports the security and compliance program by assessing security controls, evaluating compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and other frameworks, collecting audit evidence, performing control testing, tracking remediation, and reviewing technical documentation. Partners with engineering, security, business teams, and system owners to identify and resolve compliance gaps across cloud and infrastructure environments.

Manage U.S. employment-based immigration cases, including H-1B, PERM, green card, transfers, amendments, and extensions. Track work authorization and deadlines, coordinate with immigration counsel, advise HR and business leaders, support employees, monitor vendors, maintain resources, generate reports, assist audits, and support global mobility, international transfers, and digital nomad visa assessments.

Owns VM and fleet test strategy, performance quality gates, and hypervisor validation for an IaaS platform. Designs reproducible bare-metal-like test environments, develops automated performance benchmarks and regression gates, validates SLOs and deployment safety, and builds test harnesses and analysis pipelines in Go, Python, and Perl. The role requires deep expertise in virtualization, Linux systems, performance engineering, statistical analysis, and cross-architecture debugging.
