Plan and implement IBM System z/OS communications installations and upgrades using SMP/e and system utilities. Configure and manage communications products (VTAM, TCP/IP, FTP/SFTP, NDM, VPS), JES2 parameters, PARMLIB, and USS filesystems. Diagnose and resolve communications-related abends and system issues, create detailed installation/upgrade documentation, and meet government project timelines and processes. Support debugging, tracing, and software installation activities.

Support architecture reviews, technical assessments, release planning, and surge reach-back SME tasks for mission-critical geospatial capabilities supporting the USAF.

Lead DISA-focused mainframe and legacy modernization engagements as the primary Red Canyon interface. Own day-to-day execution, scope, schedule, budget, risks, and deliverables; coordinate subcontractors and stakeholders; defend technical approaches in customer forums; mentor staff; and support proposals and task order activities. Ensure modernization stays on schedule, on budget, and technically sound while maintaining contractually required documentation and communications.

Serve as a combined DevSecOps and Configuration Management specialist for pre-production cloud efforts. Define and execute CM processes, maintain baselines, manage builds and CI/CD pipelines, implement IaC and security automation, support change control boards, perform audits, manage artifact repositories and containerized deployments, produce SE artifacts, and provide training and documentation.

Design, develop, and modernize software by translating legacy mainframe code (COBOL/ASM/JCL/Copybooks) into Java microservices. Support UI integration, relational and hierarchical databases, batch and real-time processing, CI/CD, cloud-native and ZT/ICAM integration, and use AI/ML tools to assist translation and optimization.
