Leads JerseySTEM’s finance function, overseeing budgeting, cash flow, expense reimbursement, matching gifts, sponsorships, financial reporting, controls, policies, compliance, and banking relationships. The role provides strategic financial guidance, manages and recruits volunteer finance team members, coordinates meetings, and ensures adherence to financial procedures. This is a virtual, unpaid volunteer position requiring a minimum 12-month commitment, approximately 5–7 hours weekly, and New Jersey residency.

Plans, organizes, and manages volunteer training and development programs. Assesses learning needs, creates training guides and manuals, delivers onboarding and role-specific training, implements virtual learning initiatives, and evaluates training outcomes for organizational improvement.

Develops and modifies JerseySTEM’s WordPress website, collaborates with marketing and internal teams to identify needs, prioritizes design enhancements, and edits website content based on organizational requirements. This virtual pro-bono role requires approximately six hours weekly for a minimum six-month commitment, including attendance at a weekly Friday Zoom meeting.

Plan, organize, and manage learning and development activities for JerseySTEM volunteers. Manage and prioritize Agile product backlogs, gather requirements, define user stories and acceptance criteria, coordinate stakeholders and delivery teams, and adjust priorities based on progress and evolving needs. The role requires a six-month commitment of approximately 5–7 hours weekly and is unpaid.

Manage and optimize Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence across JerseySTEM. Configure workflows, dashboards, reports, permissions, automations, service processes, integrations, and metrics. Gather requirements, translate business needs into scalable technical solutions, provide user guidance, and identify improvements to collaboration and operational efficiency. This is an unpaid pro-bono role requiring approximately six hours weekly for a preferred six- to twelve-month commitment.

Designs, implements, and manages JerseySTEM’s workflow automation stack using platforms such as Automation Anywhere and Google Apps Script. The role maps and automates cross-functional processes, integrates business platforms, adds AI-assisted workflow steps, monitors reliability, troubleshoots issues, documents dependencies, and establishes governance. The owner also recruits and mentors a lean automation team, partners on architecture and security, and identifies high-value automation opportunities in a remote, pro-bono environment.

Research grant opportunities, evaluate funder requirements, develop compelling grant proposals, maintain submission and outcome records, and enter grant data into Salesforce, Jira, or spreadsheets. The role requires approximately six flexible volunteer hours weekly, a minimum six-month commitment, and attendance at weekly team meetings.

Supports department-specific projects for JerseySTEM, collaborates with team members and managers, attends work sessions, provides daily written updates, uses digital collaboration systems, and maintains professional communication. The remote associate commits to at least 20 hours per week for a minimum one-month renewable term while contributing to STEM education programs for underserved students.

Lead JerseySTEM’s AI-forward data intelligence stack by designing automated pipelines, integrating organizational platforms, developing generative AI data interfaces, building predictive models, and implementing automated governance. Configure and test BigQuery, Vertex AI, AI-enabled BI, ETL/ELT, and reporting solutions. Recruit and mentor a lean data team while enabling self-service intelligence, proactive anomaly alerts, and automated stakeholder insights in a remote, volunteer environment.
