As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will support capital markets financing transactions, draft legal documents, manage deal flow, and ensure compliance with legal risks.

Lead first-line compliance for growth: oversee acquisition channels, marketing, partner relationships, and product launches. Build control frameworks, approve materials, translate UDAAP/Reg B/TCPA/CAN-SPAM requirements into practical guidance, manage remediation and root-cause fixes, liaise with second-line, Legal, auditors and regulators, and hire and develop a compliance team to enable scalable, examination-ready growth.

Provide corporate governance and banking legal support for Upstart Bank. Own board and committee processes, governance policies, intercompany agreements, and Regulation W compliance. Advise directors, executives, and internal partners on bank regulatory obligations, conflicts with affiliates, and bank holding company reporting. Support OCC, FDIC, and Federal Reserve engagements and examinations, build examination-ready processes, and partner cross-functionally on governance and regulatory considerations for new products and bank operations.

The Lead Legal Counsel will manage commercial agreements, provide strategic legal advice for Lending Partnerships, and support team collaboration. This role requires experience in technology transactions and complex negotiations.
