Position Summary
Dhaka Technologies Limited Company (DTLC) is hiring on behalf of its client, a leading U.S. financial services institution, for a Senior Database Security Engineer specializing in IBM Guardium. The role sits within the client's Database Security Engineering organization on the Database Activity Monitoring workstream and focuses specifically on the Guardium tooling that supports it.
This is a hands-on Guardium ownership role: provisioning the platform, patching it, running version upgrades, and building reporting on top of it. It is not a general entitlement or IAM role. The ideal candidate is an independent, security-minded engineer who builds and automates solutions personally rather than working at an architecture or strategy level.
Compensation
$85 to $90 per hour on W2. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provision, configure, and maintain IBM Guardium across the enterprise database estate.
- Plan and execute Guardium patching and version upgrades, including testing and validation.
- Design and build Guardium reporting to support database activity monitoring and compliance needs.
- Automate provisioning, patching, and operational processes using Python, Unix/KSH shell scripting, and PowerShell.
- Work across Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and other RDBMS platforms, with a primarily on-premises SQL Server environment today.
- Build, test, and certify new solutions and product versions, then hand them off to operations with complete runbooks.
- Participate in PI planning and manage work through Jira in an Agile engineering team.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on IBM Guardium experience, including provisioning, patching, version upgrades, and reporting that the candidate performed personally.
- Hands-on Python, Unix/KSH shell scripting, and PowerShell.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle, MSSQL, or other RDBMS platforms.
- Hands-on experience with product certifications.
- Hands-on process automation experience.
- Experience with Jira and Horizon.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with CockroachDB, Cassandra, or PostgreSQL.
- Cloud database experience on AWS (including RDS) or Azure.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot.
- Prompt engineering experience.
Team Environment
- Engineering focus: This is a pure engineering team, not operations. There is no on-call rotation and the team is not staffed 24/7.
- Build and hand off: The team builds and certifies solutions, then hands them to operations with runbooks once adopted.
- Planning: Work is driven by PI planning with heavy Jira usage.

Work Authorization
