Vanguard is seeking a Lead Agentic AI Engineer to help drive the next generation of AI-powered experiences supporting our Corporate Communications and enterprise digital platforms. In this highly visible technical leadership role, you'll combine expertise in cloud engineering, data engineering, and Generative AI to build scalable solutions that enhance search, automation, knowledge discovery, and user experiences across the organization.

You'll work at the intersection of AWS cloud technologies, enterprise data platforms, and emerging Agentic AI capabilities, delivering innovative solutions that enable the business to unlock greater value from information and AI-driven insights. This role offers the opportunity to shape architecture, influence technical strategy, and help establish future Agentic AI capabilities across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of enterprise-grade cloud, data, and AI solutions.

  • Develop Agentic AI applications leveraging Amazon Bedrock, LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agent orchestration frameworks.

  • Design intelligent search and knowledge retrieval solutions that improve how users interact with enterprise content and information.

  • Build and optimize data pipelines, ETL processes, and cloud-native data platforms using AWS technologies.

  • Create reusable services, APIs, automation frameworks, and cloud-native engineering capabilities.

  • Drive architecture decisions and establish technical best practices across cloud and AI initiatives.

  • Implement infrastructure automation through Infrastructure as Code and modern DevOps practices.

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business partners to identify high-value AI and cloud opportunities.

  • Ensure solutions meet security, governance, scalability, reliability, and performance standards.

  • Mentor engineers and serve as a technical leader across multiple initiatives

Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight years related work experience, with at least two years of development experience.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing solutions on AWS.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, containerization, and DevOps practices.

  • Proficiency in Python, Java, or Node.js.

  • Experience building Generative AI applications using AWS Bedrock, LLMs, prompt engineering, and RAG architectures.

  • Deep understanding of end-to-end ETL processes across diverse workflows, with the ability to guide the team with AWS data services such as Amazon S3, AWS Glue, and Amazon Athena. 

  • Experience integrating cloud and AI solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, and data platforms.

  • Demonstrated experience working in Agile delivery frameworks such as Scrum or SAFe.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps Engineer).

  • Experience with multi-agent architectures and agent orchestration frameworks.

  • Experience with vector databases and advanced knowledge retrieval solutions.

  • Experience with AI governance, observability, evaluation frameworks, and responsible AI practices.

  • Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) experience.

  • Power BI or enterprise reporting experience.

  • Experience supporting communications, digital experience, content management, or customer-facing platforms.
