Reports To: Banquet Manager

Job Overview 

The Banquet Houseperson is responsible for assisting in the setup, service, and breakdown of banquet and catering events. This role requires a strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Setup:  
  • Set up tables, chairs, linens, and other equipment according to event specifications. 
  • Assist in the placement of centerpieces, table settings, and other decorative elements. 
  • Ensure all equipment is clean and functional. 
  • Service:  
  • Transport food and beverage items to and from the kitchen and banquet areas. 
  • Assist in the service of food and beverages to guests, as needed. 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas throughout the event. 
  • Breakdown:  
  • Remove all food and beverage items from tables and dispose of waste properly. 
    • Strip tables and stack chairs. 
    • Clean and sanitize all equipment and surfaces. 
    • Transport used linens and equipment to designated areas. 
    • General:  
    • Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines. 
    • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. 
    • Work cooperatively with other team members. 
    • Be flexible and able to adapt to changing schedules and event requirements. 

Qualifications 

  • Previous experience in a banquet or hospitality setting preferred. 
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects. 
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time. 


Physical Demands 

  • Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying items. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. 

Work Environment 

  • Fast-paced, often hectic environment. 
  • Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. 
  • Irregular work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
