About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Operations Director to join our Corporate & Investment Banking Lending Operations (CIBLO) division, supporting one of the firm's fastest-growing businesses. As the business continues to expand, this leader will define and execute the operational strategy required to support sustainable growth, strengthen the client experience, and advance key business priorities. The role will oversee critical external client relationships and partner closely with senior executives and stakeholders across the enterprise.
The successful candidate will be an enterprise-minded, strategic leader with the ability to shape and lead large-scale transformation, establish trusted relationships, and influence senior business leaders and key partners. This leader will translate strategy into disciplined execution, align diverse stakeholders around shared priorities, and deliver measurable, sustainable business and operational outcomes.

In this role, you will:
  • Manage and develop multiple specialized teams of less experienced managers and professional individual contributors with focus on delivering highly complex tasks and risk services for cross functional stakeholders, internal partners associated with the function or affected by its outcome
  • Work with senior management to develop and execute business plans
  • Integrate efforts of cross department initiatives with core business objectives
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for process improvement and risk control development within the Operations management functional area
  • Provide expertise on managing the most highly complex technical and operational processes with cross-group impact
  • Lead Operations management team by making strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues to meet higher risk deliverables
  • Interpret and develop range of policies and procedures relating to Operational management area
  • Collaborate with and influence functional team on the operational processes and initiatives
  • Provide training and guidance to less experienced staff
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Operations
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Executive-level operations leadership experience within Corporate & Investment Banking or Wholesale Lending
  • Experience developing and executing enterprise strategies that align operational priorities, client needs, risk objectives, and business growth
  • Ability to build trusted partnerships and influence senior executives, business leaders, control partners, and other stakeholders across a complex matrixed organization
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional programs and large-scale initiatives from strategy through execution, with measurable and sustainable outcomes
  • Sound judgment and decision-making ability when resolving complex operational challenges, balancing competing priorities, and managing risk
  • Experience leading operational transformation and leveraging technology, automation, data, and process redesign to improve efficiency, scalability, and client outcomes
  • Knowledge of operational risk management practices, including Risk and Control Self-Assessment, control testing, issue management, and sustainable remediation
  • Ability to establish a clear strategic direction and align geographically dispersed teams and partners around shared goals, accountability, and execution
  • Experience building leadership capability through coaching, succession planning, talent development, and the cultivation of inclusive, high-performing teams
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and significant change while communicating with clarity, maintaining organizational focus, and supporting disciplined execution
