Job Description

SUMMARY:

 The Integration Engineer - WebSphere position requires an experienced information technology professional with an advanced level of knowledge. This includes the design and implementation of infrastructure from specifications, configuration and deployment of applications, connecting to back-end resources, and advanced troubleshooting of moderately complex software applications. This role requires the candidate to be highly flexible in hours of work because of its highly available infrastructure necessity. The candidate must be process-oriented, organized, work in a methodical fashion and have the ability to create clear, accurate documentation and implement the design in a diverse team environment.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  •  Deployment, administration and operational support of (production, staging, test and development) environments for multiple projects using WebSphere Application Server.
  • Support day-to-day WebSphere and IBM HTTP Server system administration activities, including report defect fixes during the migration effort
  • Open tickets for the pending issues and follow-up and document for the future issue reference.
  • Monitor application server performance and respond appropriately.
  • Monitors systems capacity and performance, plans and executes disaster recovery procedures, and provides Tier 1, 2 technical supports.
  • Coordinates with release management organization to control release of patches/upgrades to the application infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience including recent work administering WebSphere 8.x
  • Prior experience working with Linux Operating Systems
  • Experience in shell scripting Patch, Jython, and Python, deploy and backup JAVA applications.
  • Financial Services experience and background desired but not required.
  • Experience implementing Liberty profile will be preferred
