Job Overview:

This candidate will be a part of LPL’s Client Success organization, a growing organization within LPL Financial. As part of the Client Success team, you will have the opportunity to directly live out LPL’s mission: We take care of our advisors, so they can take care of their clients.

We are seeking a Vice President level candidate to help support our growing team and improve our organizational performance. As the Vice President, Training Strategy & Development, this candidate will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, measuring and overseeing training and development programs and initiatives across the organization. They will collaborate with various stakeholders to assess needs, develop strategies, and create effective training solutions that align with our business objectives. The ideal candidate for this role will have strong leadership skills, is a highly organized self-starter and problem-solver, skilled in time management and prioritization, and a passion for cultivating a culture of continuous learning and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management: Build and manage a training team. Provide guidance, support, and coaching to ensure the individual and collective inteam's success.
  • Training Strategy: Conceptualize, develop a scalable and differentiated end-to-end training strategy that addresses the needs of the organization. Identify gaps in knowledge and skills and design programs to address those gaps effectively.
  • Program & Content Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including success managers, subject matter experts, etc. to develop comprehensive training journeys, content and complementary development engagements that align with organizational goals and objectives. Training will range from basic to intermediate to advanced.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the delivery of high-quality learning journeys by establishing and implementing quality assurance processes, conducting regular evaluations to ensure knowledge mastery, and providing feedback to trainers.
  • Resource Management: Manage talent capacity and any budget allocated, ensuring optimal utilization of resources. Identify and recommend investments in tools, technologies, and resources to enhance program delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with stakeholders, to understand the unique needs and align execution/delivery accordingly. Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure their support and engagement in training initiatives.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of learning journeys. Regularly analyze and report on performance, making (data-driven) recommendations for improvement.
  • Industry Trends and Best Practices: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in training and development. Incorporate innovative approaches and methodologies into program design and delivery to enhance the learning—and overall—participant experience.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure training programs and content complies with relevant industry regulations, company policies, etc. Stay informed about changes and update programs accordingly.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team by encouraging feedback, conducting regular assessments, and implementing enhancements to training programs based on feedback and evaluation results.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of experience managing and leading a team responsible for delivering training and development programs

Core Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles, learning preferences, and training tactics and methodologies;
  • Highly organized, process oriented, self-starter;
  • Confidence in ability to lead and highly collaborative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives; simultaneously;
  • A sharp eye for identifying areas of improvement—developing enhancements, and addressing shortfalls within programming;
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and measure program effectiveness; and
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements related to training and development programs.

Preferences:

  • Familiarity with learning experience platforms (LXP) and e-learning platforms
  • Proficient in ShowPad, Smartsheet, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, SalesForce, Online training delivery technologies a plus


 

Pay Range:

$125,100-$208,500/year
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
