The Opportunity

As a Talent Partner, you will work hand in hand with Senior HRBPs and senior business leaders across multiple lines of business and functions to translate business priorities into talent outcomes.

We're looking for a talent strategist with deep expertise across talent management and organizational effectiveness, including areas such as organizational design, leadership development, succession planning, talent assessment, team effectiveness, and culture. This individual combines strong business acumen, a consultative approach to solving complex challenges, and the ability to translate ambiguous problems into scalable, practical solutions that drive meaningful business outcomes.

This isn’t a role focused on deploying programs. It’s about deeply understanding the business, identifying the talent and organizational issues that matter most, and applying the right expertise and solutions to drive tangible business outcomes.

You won’t simply execute the talent agenda. You’ll help write it, own it, and deliver it.

This role is remote eligible in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. However, individuals residing within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office will be expected to work on-site four days per week. Relocation assistance is available for this position.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead talent reviews and succession planning across assigned LOBs/functions, helping leaders strengthen talent decisions, bench strength, successor readiness and leadership pipelines.
  • Accelerate successor development, ensuring development plans translate into meaningful experiences, progress and increased readiness.
  • Co-create LOB/function talent strategies with Senior HRBPs and business leaders, translating business priorities and future needs into focused talent actions.
  • Craft and deliver quarterly business reviews to demonstrate progress against the talent strategy and unstick any obstacles.
  • Shape culture plans and activation, helping leaders translate enterprise culture priorities into meaningful, sustained change within their organizations.
  • Monitor performance and talent risk indicators, identifying patterns and translating insights into decisions and action.
  • Apply enterprise Talent capabilities to business challenges, bringing together the right expertise across Talent to solve for the business rather than simply deploying programs.
  • Bring business insight back into the Talent agenda, using what is learned across LOBs/functions to shape priorities, strengthen solutions and increase their impact and scalability.
  • Lead through influence and co-creation, mobilizing business leaders, HRBPs, COE experts and cross-functional stakeholders around shared outcomes.

What you have:

  • 10 yrs of progressive experience in Talent Management, across several areas such as talent strategy, organization design and effectiveness, succession planning, talent reviews and assessment, leadership coaching and development, team effectiveness, culture, high-potential talent or geographic talent strategy.
  • Experience across both COE and HRBP environments will differentiate you, complemented by a strong consulting orientation.
  • Deep business centricity and commercial acumen, with the ability to connect business strategy to its talent and organizational implications.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn complex or ambiguous challenges into clear strategies and executable workplans, engaging the right stakeholders along the way.
  • Strong executive storytelling, influence and results orientation, translating complexity into clear choices and action.
  • Demonstrated success co-creating solutions with senior leaders, HRBPs, COEs and cross-functional partners.
  • A track record of solving with scale and sustainability in mind rather than defaulting to one-off solutions or programs.
  • A humble, curious and confident style, bringing a strong point of view while listening, learning and challenging constructively.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to be responsive rather than reactive, diagnosing before solving and maintaining focus amid competing priorities.
