Role Summary/Purpose:
As the General Manager - Venmo, this role is responsible for strategy development and execution for the portfolio via the leadership of their Client Development and cross-functional teams. The General Manager develops annual plans and coordinates activities with the direct leadership team across the portfolio and its related functions; and directs others in the execution of these plans.
Essential Responsibilities:
Develop and manage strategic action plans to achieve performance targets.
Understand the portfolio dynamics to develop, support and implement key business strategies.
Own and drive the overall portfolio financial performance, as well as key growth metrics.
Lead the cross-functional client team in supporting the client
Partner with the client and cross-functional teams in achieving strategic projects and key deliverables.
Understand and deliver key client metrics.
Assess the client team performance against goals and take proactive action as needed.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with client groups and all key stakeholders.
Represent SYFs interests in negotiations with the client.
Work closely with the client operations teams to develop/ implement training initiatives as needed.
Provide leadership to ensure adherence with all external and internal Compliance and Regulatory requirements.
Develop and support all existing client incentives and partner with required teams to manage client gain share.
Manage weekly and monthly client and corporate reporting.
Support business-wide initiatives, as needed
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school equivalent plus 12+ years of business development / client management within the credit card, fintech, Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL), or Digital Wallet platforms industry.
Minimum of 7 years of business development/client management experience in within the credit card, fintech, Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL), or Digital Wallet platforms industry.
Minimum of 5 years negotiation and contract management experience
Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required

Ability to influence senior corporate decision makers
Ability to effectively interface and represent Synchrony Financial at the most senior levels in the client organization
Ability to innovate and find creative solutions to meet business goals

Demonstrated success leading/influencing a team, with proven track record of delivering results
Strong overall knowledge of card business including risk, collections, operations, marketing and finance
Superior financial acumen
Proven experience with digital forward products and technical knowledge
Skilled communicator (both written and verbal) who influences and negotiates with great latitude on outcomes
Broad and comprehensive understanding of theories and practices in a discipline.
In-depth knowledge of how own function integrates within the business unit and of direct competitors (products/services).
Grade/Level: 16
The salary range for this position is 235,000.00 - 390,000.00 USD Annual. This position is also eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan target of 30% of salary and an Annual Equity target of 30% of salary.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

You will be required to commute to your nearest Hub (either virtual or physical) for in-person engagement activities such as regular business or team meetings, training and culture events.

Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
