About the role
As a Support Engineer at Hoyack, you’ll be the first line of defense for a high-profile banking client. You’ll assist their internal support team with customer-facing issues, triage support tickets, troubleshoot bugs, and write small code fixes in a modern MERN stack environment. This is a junior-level engineering role ideal for someone looking to grow their technical skills while working on real production systems.
- Act as a technical liaison between the client’s support team and Hoyack’s engineering team
- Triage and troubleshoot issues reported via Jira tickets
- Investigate and reproduce bugs in a Node.js / MongoDB codebase
- Write small code fixes or scripts to resolve recurring issues
- Collaborate with backend and frontend engineers on escalated problems
- Document findings, fixes, and troubleshooting steps
- Communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in software development or technical support
- Basic understanding of JavaScript, Node.js, and MongoDB
- Familiarity with the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js)
- Experience using tools like Jira, Git, and basic command-line interfaces
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a hybrid team
Nice to Have
- Experience working in fintech, banking, or regulated environments
Familiarity with REST APIs and JSON - Exposure to customer support operations or SLAs
Experience writing internal documentation or runbooks
