About the Role
Justworks is seeking a Staff Product Designer to join our Employment Experiences Design team.
This role will report to the Director of Experience Design, working in partnership with Product Design Managers to connect Purchase, People, and Benefits experiences across customer growth, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
You will drive high-impact design efforts that span across multiple product areas, creating seamless first impressions and long-term engagement paths for our small business customers and their employees. You will partner closely with peers in Product, Engineering, and Marketing to define strategic opportunities and bring coherent solutions to life.
As a Staff Product Designer, you’ll lead the framing and definition of complex, multi-touchpoint experience areas, shaping the future of how Justworks supports small businesses through critical employment moments.
Your Success ProfileWhat You Will Work On
- Lead the design and strategic framing of experiences that bridge the Purchase, People, and Benefits domains, especially around growth funnels, onboarding journeys, and lifecycle transitions.
- Design intuitive, polished user interfaces that reduce friction, and build customer trust from first touch through ongoing engagement.
- Create models, frameworks, and system maps to bring clarity to complex problem spaces and align cross-functional stakeholders.
- Facilitate collaborative design processes, balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, and business goals.
- Contribute to and extend our design systems and shared patterns to support scalable, high-quality experiences across teams.
- Mentor designers across Employment Experience Design, modeling best practices in product and service design craft.
- Stay close to user needs through collaboration with Research, using insights to inform and validate design solutions.
- Partner with Engineering and Product peers to define, scope, and deliver high-quality work that moves key business metrics.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Prior Experience
- 7+ years of professional experience in product design, ideally with some experience in B2B SaaS, HR tech, benefits, insurance, or related domains.
- 2+ years of experience leading designers, either with direct management experience or by directing designers to successful outcomes.
- Experience working as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating fluidly with engineers, product managers, researchers, marketers, data scientists, and others.
- Experience with design for ecommerce, conversion funnels, and product-led growth.
- Experience designing complex SaaS workflows, ideally in human resources, healthcare, insurance, benefits, or related domains.
- Experience driving initiatives from discovery through delivery across multiple product areas.
- Attention to detail, and a refined sense of craft in visual design, typography, and brand expression.
- Deep understanding of how qualitative and quantitative research can inform design decisions.
- Fluency in Figma.
Portfolio
- A portfolio of case studies demonstrating experience leading complex product design efforts, including clear problem framing, collaboration processes, final solutions, and measurable outcomes.
The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $190,000.00 to $209,000.00 per year.
Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
