Who You Are

Justworks is looking for an experienced research professional to help grow our customer-focused Research & Insights function. You’re creative, solution-oriented, adept at collaborating cross-functionally and with leadership stakeholders, and excel at turning data into decisions. In this role, you’ll play a key part in helping the Technology division become more insights-driven. You’ll be responsible for leading and executing department research initiatives from end to end, and you’ll focus on ensuring what you learn informs our forward-looking strategy. You’ll contribute to scaling our Research & Insights function, supporting education initiatives and the building of systems that make it easier for others across the department to make insights-informed decisions.

In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in helping Justworks make some of its most impactful, long-term decisions. You’ll be responsible for leading and executing research initiatives and contributing to an increasingly customer-focused Technology strategy for the company.

Your Success ProfileWhat You Will Work On

  • Lead customer research initiatives across the Technology division independently, identifying appropriate stakeholders, defining project scope, and managing the research process through design, field, analysis, reporting and narrative building, communication, and implementation
  • Partner directly with product, design, product marketing, operations and engineering stakeholders to guide decision-making, assisting them in incorporating your findings into strategic decisions
  • Champion insights fluency across the Technology division by developing education initiatives and scalable systems that make it easier for teams to access, conduct, and apply research; leverage service design principles to align these efforts with end-to-end user and team journeys
  • Facilitate a wide variety of research methods with Justworks customers, prospective customers, and other stakeholders
  • Keep a pulse on all Technology goings-on and recommend research when relevant
  • Share research findings and ensure implementation of work, using advanced storytelling and presentation expertise, as well as interactive workshops and other creative communication methods

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to execute significant research projects from end to end, likely grounded in 5+ years of experience in a UX research role
  • Highly skilled at stakeholder management and leading cross-functional projects; able to confidently and independently work with executive stakeholders (prior in-house experience strongly preferred)
  • Experience in a range of research methods, in particular qualitative and mixed methods
  • Comfortable turning amorphous business and product challenges into specific questions research can answer
  • Background in service design or systems thinking strongly preferred, especially where it’s been used to inform cross-functional collaboration or strategic initiatives
  • Excellent oral, written, and visual communicator, with the ability to focus research storytelling on the data’s potential impact and to guide stakeholders in their decision-making process

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $175,000 to $190,000 per year.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location.  Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
