At Cengage, our employees have a direct impact in helping learners around the world discover the power and joy of learning. We are bonded by our shared purpose – driving innovation that helps millions of learners improve their lives and achieve their dreams through education.

What you’ll do here:

We are looking for an accomplished and dedicated Sr. Technology Program Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for leading our Consolidations program that spans all areas of our organization. From business case through customer migration, success depends on the ability to cut through complexity, keep teams aligned and focused, and manage multi-functional dependencies.

This role is high-visibility and will offer challenges in problem solving, collaboration and communication, cross-team orchestration, dependency management, and day-to-day program leadership.

You will ensure each initiative is organized, objectives and key results are clear and tracked, dependencies are managed, and all key partners can tell a consistent story of progress.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate multi-functional programs from planning through delivery, including launch, release, hypercare, and transition to ongoing support.

Partner with Product, Engineering, Content, Go-to-Market, Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, and business teams to deliver technology solutions and business capabilities.

Build and continuously improve the approach for planning, tracking, and managing capability rollouts, creating greater consistency and visibility across initiatives.

Develop and maintain program plans, timelines, dependencies, risks, and action items across multiple workstreams.

Monitor program progress, communicate status, and raise risks or issues to help keep initiatives on track.

Help ensure work is prioritized, well-defined, and aligned with project and business goals.

Guide and contribute to program investment planning, including defining the rationale, expected value and outcomes, developing financial assumptions, tracking budgets against actuals, and evaluating results.

Support planning, release readiness, and go-to-market activities to help move initiatives from ideas through launch.

Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams to remove blockers and drive execution.

Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and external partners to support successful delivery and adoption of technology solutions.

Qualifications:

Experience in technical project or program management, technology delivery, technology operations, or a related field.

Experience coordinating multi-functional technology initiatives from planning through launch, including go-to-market, go-live, and post-launch support.

Ability to manage end-to-end delivery across enterprise, technology, and business teams, ensuring alignment beyond the technical release.

Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business organizations.

Experience communicating program status, risks, and recommendations to team members and senior leadership.

Strong facilitation, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Curiosity to understand the business objectives and desired outcomes of initiatives, ensuring execution remains focused on delivering value not just completing tasks.

Experience with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe delivery frameworks.

Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, or similar delivery tools.

Preferred

PMP, PgMP, Scrum Master, SAFe, or similar certification.

Experience managing vendors and third-party partners.
