The Job At-A-Glance:
The Senior Program Manager will oversee and manage large-scale high-complexity software implementation, conversion and integration programs from inception to completion for clients within the financial services industry. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in program management, excellent leadership and negotiation skills, strong executive presence, and the ability to drive cross-functional teams towards successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage large-scale programs, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
Develop and implement program plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define program objectives, requirements, and deliverables.
Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring program goals are achieved within constraints.
Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams, including technical, operations, and business stakeholders.
Monitor program progress, track milestones, and provide regular status updates to senior management.
Regularly interact with internal and external leadership, including executives, acting as the primary escalation point.
Create and maintain program documentation, including standard artifacts and reporting dashboards.
Define and manage program governance (controls). Actively manage risks and issues, taking appropriate corrective measures.
Maintain a forward-looking view of assigned programs, anticipating issues before they arise.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the program team.
Interpret contract terms and manage program scope and deliverables accordingly.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
Bring Your Passion, Do What You Love. Here’s What We’re Looking For:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field and a minimum of 12 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 8+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience.
PMP strongly preferred
Proven track record of successfully managing large, complex projects and programs in a matrixed environment, including delegation of tasks and measurement of progress.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to lead through influence.
Strong leadership skills.
Strong teamwork, organization, and problem resolution skills.
Ability to anticipate needs and effectively manage risk.
Ability to think independently and consider cross-functional and downstream impacts.
Ability to learn quickly, multi-task, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, PMP).
Expertise in MS Project and JIRA.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to financial services preferred.
Ability to travel up to 30%.
This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
