What you'll do here:

  • The Manager of Curriculum and Instruction will lead the development of curriculum and educational resources for Milady, a division of Cengage Group specializing in the beauty and wellness industry. This role is responsible for ensuring that student learning experiences are instructionally sound, engaging, aligned with industry and licensure requirements, and designed to meet the evolving needs of beauty professionals. You will manage a team of Content Managers, Learning Designers, and Content Editors and help to build the capabilities, standards, and processes needed to create high-quality instructional content while improving content reuse, scalability, consistency, and speed to market. 

Skills you will need here:

Curriculum Development and Strategy:

  • Design and lead all aspects of the development of innovative curriculum materials, digital learning experiences, and instructional programs tailored to the needs of students.

  • Ensure that all instructional content is aligned with industry trends, state standards, and licensure requirements, using knowledge of best practices in the beauty and wellness sector.

  • Collaborate with partners to incorporate relevant learning science, research, technology, and digital capabilities into curriculum and learning experiences to meet the needs of our students and industry.  

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Supervise, mentor, and support a team of Content Managers, Learning Designers, and Content Editors in curriculum design, instructional planning, and content development.

  • Develop an empowered, innovative team environment, encouraging creative solutions and professional growth.

  • Provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and support individual development plans for team members. 

Instructional Quality and Standards:

  • Establish and maintain high standards for instructional quality, including pedagogy, content accuracy, relevance, and accessibility.

  • Review and refine curriculum and instructional methods to ensure efficiency, engagement, and alignment with non traditional learning principles.

  • Develop assessment tools and methodologies to measure the impact and effectiveness of curriculum offerings. 

Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with industry experts, educators, licensing boards, and other collaborators to ensure curriculum meets professional and educational standards.

  • Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for the organization’s educational offerings at industry events, conferences, and in digital forums.  

Project and Resource Management:

  • Lead curriculum development projects from inception through launch, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.

  • Be responsible for the allocation of resources across the curriculum team, including managing timelines, budgets, and workloads to meet project goals.

  • Partner with technology and product teams to integrate e-learning tools, multimedia content, and analytics into the curriculum.  

Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

  • Identify trends and advancements in beauty education and ed-tech, proactively incorporating new instructional methods, content formats, and digital tools.

  • Establish a system for ongoing feedback from users and adjust curriculum materials based on data insights and learner needs.  

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Education, Curriculum Development, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience: 7+ years in curriculum design, instructional leadership, or content development, ideally in Ed Tech, adult education, or the beauty/wellness industry.

  • Skills:

  • Demonstrated expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a consistent record of developing high-performing teams.

  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, organize, and be responsible for complex projects.

  • Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and learning management systems (LMS).

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.  Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

In this position,  you will be eligible to participate in the company’s discretionary incentive bonus program.  This position's bonus target amount, which is not guaranteed and is dependent on individual performance and overall company results among other factors, is provided below.  

20% Annual: Individual Target
$101,900.00 - $132,450.00 USD
