Vanguard Workplace Solutions (VWS) plays a critical role in helping workplace participants achieve better financial outcomes through a suite of differentiated offers and services. As a Senior Strategist on the Participant Financial Success - Offer Strategy and Planning team, you will play a key role in developing the future capabilities that a participant within a Vanguard retirement plan will experience. In this high-visibility role, you'll collaborate across Workplace Solutions and Personal Wealth, partnering with teams to deliver exceptional value to the participants, sponsors and consultants whom we serve. This role plays a pivotal part in the Crossover Rollover initiative—an enterprise-wide priority—by shaping strategies that will define the next generation of client engagement and success at Vanguard.

Responsibilities Include:

Offer Visioning: Support the development of Vanguard’s workplace offer by defining the idealized set of products and services that support the Crossover Rollover Enterprise Operating Priority, establishing a clear point of view on how Vanguard evolves its offerings to meet client needs, differentiate in the market, and drive growth across Participant Financial Success.

Strategic & Offer Analysis: Independently defines business challenges and leads structured problem solving to define offer-specific strategies, including implications for growth, competitive positioning, financials, risk and customer satisfaction. Translate ambiguous questions into clear recommendations leveraging market, business and data analysis.

Market, Competitive & Customer Insights: Develop a deep understanding of the external retirement landscape by analyzing market dynamics, competitive positioning, and emerging trends, while synthesizing insights from sponsors, participants, consultants to identify unmet needs and inform strategy and offer differentiation.

Offer Definition & Design: Define and evolve end-to-end offer for participants within workplace sponsored retirement plans. Identify gaps in the current offer or opportunities to differentiate, develop option sets and points of view in evolving the offer, develop roadmap and approach required to bring the offer to market.

End to End Strategy Development: Own strategy development from concept through execution, ensuring alignment across stakeholders and integration across functions. Translate strategy into actionable plans, oversee execution in partnership with Workplace digital, operations, marketing, client relationship, risk and legal teams, as well as, partners across Personal Wealth.

Strategic Prioritization & Offer Portfolio Management: Establish a clear, prioritized portfolio of initiatives aligned to strategic objectives, value creation, and PFS priorities. Evaluate tradeoffs across growth, cost, and risk to inform decision making. Maintain an ongoing view of the offer portfolio, evolving based on emerging needs.

Omni-Channel Integration & Influence: Serve as a thought partner across PFS omni-channel efforts to enable delivery of the right offer to the right participant at the right time, aligning strategies across digital, human, and marketing engagement channels to maximize effectiveness and impact.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight years related work experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
