About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Branch Formats & Experience Strategist Execution Consultant to shape the future of the branch network through long-term strategic planning, customer-focused innovation, and enterprise-wide collaboration. This individual contributor will own the 5 to 10-year branch formats vision and roadmap, defining future-state branch concepts, experience principles, format taxonomy, and service models that guide network investments and transformation decisions.
Working across Branch Banking, Customer Experience, Technology, Analytics, Operations, Real Estate, and Design teams, this role will integrate customer insights, employee needs, market trends, competitive intelligence, and business objectives into a cohesive branch portfolio strategy. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who excels at solving complex problems, influencing senior leaders, and driving alignment across highly matrixed organizations without direct authority.
In this role, you will:
  • Own the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for the future branch network, defining how branch formats, service models, and customer experiences evolve over a 5- to 10-year horizon.
  • Develop and maintain the enterprise branch format taxonomy, experience principles, and format strategy framework that guide network investments, innovation decisions, and transformation initiatives.
  • Translate customer needs, employee insights, business objectives, market dynamics, and emerging technologies into future-state branch concepts, experience strategies, and portfolio recommendations.
  • Lead strategic analyses and scenario planning efforts to assess opportunities, risks, trends, and competitive developments that influence the future of the branch channel.
  • Develop executive-level business cases, strategic recommendations, and investment frameworks that support senior leadership decision-making and enterprise prioritization.
  • Partner across Branch Banking, Customer Experience, Analytics, Technology, Operations, Real Estate, Physical Design, and Marketing to align stakeholders around a shared vision for the future branch network.
  • Facilitate strategy workshops, design-thinking sessions, and executive forums that drive alignment, resolve complex business challenges, and advance transformation priorities.
  • Define future-state customer and employee experience strategies through journey mapping, service design, experience-zone architecture, and service model development.
  • Establish measurement frameworks, success metrics, and learning agendas to evaluate strategic concepts, pilots, and innovation initiatives.
  • Influence senior leaders and drive change across highly matrixed organizations without direct authority.
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 7+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, business transformation, customer experience, financial services, or related fields, including developing strategic recommendations, business cases, transformation roadmaps, and executive-level presentations.
  • 5+ years of experience leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives within complex matrixed organizations.
  • 4+ years of experience utilizing customer insights, market research, industry trends, or data analysis to inform business strategy and investment decisions.
  • 3+ years of experience facilitating executive workshops, strategy sessions, or stakeholder alignment activities.
  • 3+ years of experience applying Design Thinking, Human-Centered Design, Service Design, Jobs-to-Be-Done, or similar customer-centered methodologies.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with a leading management consulting firm or consulting practice supporting enterprise strategy, business transformation, customer experience, or organizational change initiatives.
  • Experience developing channel, network, portfolio, or location strategies for large customer-facing organizations.
  • Experience in retail banking, financial services, distribution strategy, customer experience, or enterprise transformation, including developing operating models, channel strategies, or multiyear transformation programs.
  • Experience utilizing customer segmentation, customer archetypes, journey analytics, behavioral insights, or related customer research methodologies.
  • Experience with branch operations, branch network strategy, physical environment design, or digital transformation initiatives.
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
