Job Description

The position of Manager, Business Planning will require excellent technical and communication skills. The position will report to the Director, Business Planning. The individual will be responsible driving improvements in the efficiency of marketing, sales, servicing & loyalty investments. The work will revolve around understanding large and complex data, data manipulation, model implementation, insight into expected outcomes of marketing/sales, optimize sales and marketing efforts, and make recommendations to invest in activities that drive business outcomes.


Examples of potential projects include business case evaluation, program sizing and simulation of expected outcomes, enablement and opportunity assessment for existing and new marketing and sales programs across the enterprise. The person in this position will partner internally with Customer and Competitive Insights’ colleagues and across marketing and business areas to align plans and deliver against business objectives.

         

Primary accountabilities include:

1. Descriptive and diagnostic analytics: Manipulate and transform data using existing and emerging tools (e.g. SAS, Datameer), leverage diagnostic techniques and tools to quickly develop analysis. Collaborate with Customer Insights, marketing, technology and business area colleagues to resolves existing gaps and enhance outputs. Evaluate overall program performance against business objectives and ROI goals.


2. Prescriptive analytics: Identify, analyze, compute and evaluate various potential business decisions given objectives and constraints, demonstrate implications of different decisions, and provide recommendations in finalizing plans based on insights generated. Ensure implementation of the business strategy into execution. Collaborate with Customer and Competitive Insights, marketing, technology and business area colleagues.

3. Ad hoc analysis: Working closely with Customer Insights delivery, marketing, and business partners to investigate and identify opportunities for growing the business. Requires an ability to understand the business strategy and objectives, perform quantitative analysis, and create business insights.


Required Qualifications and Education:

· 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting

· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Agricultural Economics, Statistics, or similar quantitative discipline, or relevant experience

· Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills

· Strong business acumen and ability to understand business problems and design appropriate analytic or measurement based solutions

· Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

· Strong interpersonal skills, energetic, and positive attitude

· SAS programming experience and knowledge of various SAS products including Enterprise Miner is strongly preferred

· Ability to work on multiple projects and work effectively in a geographically multi-location team environment
