Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.

The Community You Will Join:

Our Services & Membership team is focused on developing and scaling new growth levers for Airbnb. As a business team we work at the intersection of product, marketing, and other supply and guest teams to design, test, and launch programs that drive meaningful value for both guests and hosts. We collaborate closely with product, marketing, data science, finance, and cross-functional teams globally to bring new ideas to life and scale what works.

The Difference You Will Make:

As a Programs and Business Operations Lead, you will work with the Director of Services and Membership to develop and execute strategies to grow the success of Airbnb. You are someone who thrives in ambiguous, early-stage environments and brings equal parts strategic thinking and operational rigor. You will define the levers that make programs successful, build the tools and frameworks that enable teams to move faster, and partner deeply with product and marketing to ensure programs are designed for both user value and business impact.

You are a builder—someone who doesn't wait to be handed a playbook but creates one. You're comfortable going from zero to one, can self-start on new initiatives, and are energized by the challenge of figuring out what works in an unproven space. You pair that builder instinct with strong analytical chops and the ability to communicate clearly across product, marketing, and operations. Your attention to detail, organization, ability to multitask, work on multiple priorities and work under pressure will all ensure you succeed.

You should be great at understanding the needs of the Airbnb community and defining levers to help them succeed in the platform. You will develop strong relationships and deliver valuable guidance to help them grow within the Airbnb marketplace.

This role requires expertise in operations, supply, marketplace dynamics, and data analytics, as well as the capacity to work crossfunctionally to remove obstacles and execute initiatives.

  • Provide data driven insights quickly and accurately by leveraging tools such as SQL, excel and Tableau
  • Partner with product and marketing teams to translate business goals into program requirements and go-to-market strategies—speaking their language and earning their trust as a strategic peer
  • Identify new growth opportunities, design experiments to test hypotheses, and develop plans to scale proven levers
  • Build tools and equip teams with the relevant data support to tools to make actionable decisions
  • Create materials to communicate strategy and business performance to key stakeholders
  • Manage cross-functional workstreams across product, marketing, data science, finance, partnerships, and business operations

Your Expertise:

  • 10+ years experience in consulting position, or strategy operations role and working across multiple geographies
  • Ability to prioritize quickly and go deep on execution of new initiatives
  • Analysis and formulation of plans to address key business priorities or issues
  • Leadership and ability to influence other stakeholders
  • Ability to take initiative and deal with uncertainties
  • Strong appetite for working with the Airbnb community
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task with excellent organization skills
  • Deep understanding of supply/demand dynamics, incentive design, and growth levers
  • Background in loyalty programs, incentive programs, or merchandising strongly preferred
  • Pays attention to both details and macro-level outcomes
  • Seasoned internal and external communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and ever changing startup environment
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty and ambiguity
  • Data driven, can do attitude, strategic thinker and passion for new products and solutions.
