About this role:
We are seeking a Principal Engineer-NRE to provide technical leadership across Vulnerability Remediation, Network Lifecycle Management, and Configuration Compliance. This role will define engineering strategy, architecture, automation, and reliability standards while leading enterprise-wide modernization and transformation initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in enterprise networking, automation, observability, and reliability engineering, with a proven ability to influence technology direction, lead complex cross-functional programs, and deliver scalable solutions that enhance network resiliency, security, and operational efficiency.
In this role, you will:
  • Serve as the technical authority for network software lifecycle management, vulnerability remediation, configuration drift management, and network reliability initiatives
  • Define and drive engineering strategy, architecture, and roadmap for network lifecycle, compliance, and automation platforms
  • Lead complex enterprise-wide network modernization, risk remediation, and technology transformation programs
  • Partner with Network Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Security Engineering, CIO organizations, Product Teams, and Operations partners to deliver scalable and resilient solutions
  • Establish engineering standards, governance models, and best practices for patching, code upgrades, validation, change assurance, and operational readiness
  • Drive adoption of automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), policy-driven controls, and self-healing operational capabilities
  • Design and implement platform solutions to improve network observability, compliance management, risk visibility, and operational intelligence
  • Provide technical leadership for critical incidents, complex problem investigations, root cause analysis, and systemic reliability improvements
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and engineering approaches to enhance operational efficiency and reduce risk
  • Influence enterprise architecture decisions and contribute to strategic technology planning across Network Engineering
  • Mentor engineers and technical leaders, fostering engineering excellence and innovation across the organization
  • Drive measurable improvements in reliability, availability, operational scalability, vulnerability reduction, and lifecycle compliance
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Expertise in large-scale network platforms including routing, switching, load balancing, network security, DNS, DDI, WAN, cloud networking, and edge infrastructure
  • Experience building and deploying network automation solutions using Python, Ansible, APIs, Infrastructure as Code, or similar technologies
  • Experience with network observability, telemetry-driven operations, AIOps, and advanced analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
  • Experience driving enterprise vulnerability remediation and software lifecycle management programs
  • Industry certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, DevNet, or equivalent
  • Proven record of driving innovation, operational transformation, and reliability engineering practices at scale
Job Expectations:
  • NRE Principal Engineer will be expected to:
    • Reduce infrastructure risk through effective network software lifecycle and vulnerability management strategies
    • Increase automation adoption and reduce manual operational effort
    • Improve network reliability, availability, and resiliency metrics
    • Accelerate remediations through scalable engineering solutions and platform capabilities
    • Establish engineering standards that improve execution quality, change success rates, and operational consistency
    • Drive enterprise-wide modernization initiatives that simplify operations and enhance customer experience
