What you’ll do:
As a Portfolio Manager, you will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of direct indexing and multi-asset portfolios across SMA and UMA platforms. You will play a key role in portfolio construction and analysis, manage the onboarding of sophisticated client mandates, and serve as a subject matter expert to internal and external partners. - Own and execute on portfolio construction, rebalancing, performance monitoring, and investment strategy analysis across all multi-asset and direct indexing portfolios.
- Use quantitative risk models to optimize enhanced indexed SMA equity strategies.
- Lead the development and management of model portfolios across asset classes, ensuring alignment with investment objectives, market views, and risk parameters.
- Design, implement and QA end-to-end new investment process functionalities and improvements
- Work closely with our technology and sustainability teams to discover and execute on opportunities for innovation and automation throughout the portfolio construction, management and client engagement/reporting processes
- Partner with Relationship Management and Business Development teams to create and implement portfolio solutions for our clients
- Conduct in-depth investment research and portfolio analysis, including risk assessments, exposure attribution, customization implementation, and tax-aware overlays.
- Promote knowledge sharing and organizational learning through documentation, internal training sessions, and cross-functional collaboration.

What you’ll bring to the table:
- 4 - 8 years of experience in quantitative investment, with multi-factor risk model experience
- Strong understanding of direct indexing, multi-asset portfolio construction, and SMA/UMA platform implementation.
- Proficiency in tax loss harvesting strategy is required
- Understanding of investment operations including trading, execution, reconciliation and performance
- Ability to clearly articulate investment strategy, portfolio construction, and customization to clients, advisors, and internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with designing and QAing end-to-end investment process improvements and support scalable technology-driven solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for innovation, automation, and process improvement in investment workflows.
- High attention to detail and accountability in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Interest in sustainable investing, values-based strategies, or the intersection of finance and impact is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation at Ethic is a combination of base salary, equity (stock options) in the company, and benefits.
The base salary for this role will range from $130,000-160,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
