As an Associate Portfolio Manager, you will support the onboarding and management of direct indexing and multi-asset portfolios across SMA and UMA platforms. - Assist in the construction, rebalancing, and ongoing monitoring of multi-asset and direct indexing portfolios in SMA and UMA platforms.
- Provide client support with transition analysis, portfolio updates, and trading requests.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of model portfolios, ensuring alignment with firm-wide investment objectives and risk guidelines.
- Collaborate with senior team members on the onboarding of new client accounts, including data validation, customization setup, and transition support.
- Help test and implement improvements to portfolio management systems and workflows in partnership with Engineering and Product teams.
- Coordinate with internal teams—including Technology, Sustainability, and Relationship Management—to support the delivery of personalized investment solutions.
- Document processes and contribute to knowledge sharing through collaborative tools, internal sessions, and workflow updates.

What you’ll bring to the table:
- 2+ years of experience in quantitative investment, with multi-factor risk model experience
- Familiarity of direct indexing, multi-asset portfolio construction, and SMA/UMA platform implementation.
- Background in and/or understanding of tax loss harvesting is preferred
- Understanding of investment operations including trading, execution, reconciliation and performance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate investment concepts to internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with designing and QAing end-to-end investment process improvements and support scalable technology-driven solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for innovation, automation, and process improvement in investment workflows.
- High attention to detail and accountability in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Interest in sustainable investing, values-based strategies, or the intersection of finance and impact is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation at Ethic is a combination of base salary, equity (stock options) in the company, and benefits.
The base salary for this role will range from $120,000-130,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
