NeoGenomics has an opening for an Oncology Sales Specialist who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. The ideal candidate will be located in Orlando, FL . This position will work a territory including greater Orlando, Kissimmee, Port St. and Lucie Riviera Beach area.

Position Summary:

The Oncology Sales Specialist (OSS) is an oncology diagnostic sales representative that serves as a territory specialist. The OSS is responsible for supporting oncology customers and opportunities within the assigned territory. The OSS is the primary commercial owner of oncology-directed opportunities within the assigned geography and partners with the Territory Business Manager (TBM) on integrated account strategies involving pathology, laboratories, hospital and health-system stakeholders.

The OSS proactively identifies opportunities and targets new oncology groups to sell oncology products. The OSS is responsible for expanding or upselling within current oncology groups.

The OSS is expected to interact with hematologists/oncologists, medical oncologists, academic oncologists, surgical oncologists and gynecologic oncologists, as necessary, and this interaction takes place, but is not limited to, oncology groups, hospital oncology groups, academic centers, pathology labs, interventional radiology suites and surgery centers.

 

Core Responsibilities:  

  • Partner with TBMs to identify, prioritize, and engage target oncology accounts within the assigned territory
  • Serve as the primary commercial specialist for oncology-directed opportunities, supporting consultative sales and promotion of the Company's molecular, NGS, and liquid biopsy products
  • Develop and execute territory and account-specific business plans that align customer needs, market opportunities, and organizational sales goals
  • Build and maintain relationships with oncology customers and key stakeholders across physician groups, hospitals, health systems, laboratories, academic centers, interventional radiology suites, and surgery centers
  • Facilitate access to oncology groups by applying knowledge of the hospital and oncology landscape, customer buying patterns, clinical needs, and account dynamics
  • Collaborate with Account Managers, Client Success Specialists, Medical Science Liaisons, and other internal stakeholders to coordinate account strategy, expand account value, and support customer success
  • Identify new oncology opportunities, support expansion within existing oncology accounts, and maintain momentum throughout the sales cycle to achieve sales goals
  • Monitor territory trends, competitive activity, distributor presence, product feedback, and market conditions; communicate relevant insights to the Regional Director
  • Maintain accurate and timely account, activity, opportunity, and customer information in SalesForce.com (SFDC) to support visibility, reporting, and customer master file review
  • Use internal information technology systems effectively and understand how they interface with client needs and business processes
  • Manage time, resources, and account contact cadence effectively to support territory priorities and customer engagement expectations
  • Participate in sales meetings, seminars, industry conferences, tradeshows, the National Sales Meeting, and Summer Regional Meetings, including event coordination as needed
  • Complete sales administration responsibilities accurately and on time, including expense reporting in accordance with the company's Travel & Entertainment Policy
  • Identify personal and professional development objectives and take action to build role-related knowledge, sales capabilities, and customer engagement effectiveness
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including requirements that protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and other applicable laws

 

Experience, Education and Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences or business-related field required, MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of consistent success in oncology sales in diagnostic or pharma (both product and service) preferred
  • Strong clinical acumen and demonstrated ability to apply oncology, diagnostics, laboratory, and reimbursement knowledge in customer-facing sales discussions
  • Ability to learn and retain detailed information about NeoGenomics products, services, processes, policies, internal teams, competitor offerings, and payer/reimbursement considerations
  • Strong account management skills with the ability to coordinate territory strategy, manage customer relationships, and support integrated account execution
  • Demonstrated consultative selling, negotiation, and closing skills; prior completion of formal sales training preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and internal stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong oral, written, telephone, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to position product features, benefits, and value propositions clearly based on customer needs and account priorities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based, cross-functional environment
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline pressure
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and ability to use business systems required for sales activity, reporting, and communication
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed to complete assignments and support customer or business needs
  • Ability to work in a biohazard environment and comply with safety policies and standards
  • Valid driver's license for state of residence required

 

Travel Required:  

Ability to travel as required by role (up to 75% of the time). Some overnight travel may be
required
