NPI Product & Industrialization Engineer

Job Description:

The NPI Product & Industrialization Engineer is responsible for driving the manufacturing introduction, industrialization, and production readiness of new products within outsourced and ODM manufacturing environments. This role focuses on developing scalable manufacturing processes, production test solutions, product configurations, factory readiness plans, and capacity models to ensure successful product launches and efficient high-volume production.

Working closely with R&D, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality, Packaging Engineering, and manufacturing partners, the engineer serves as the primary manufacturing lead during NPI programs, ensuring products are manufacturable, testable, configurable, and operationally ready for mass production. The role also supports sustaining engineering activities, including yield improvement, quality enhancement, process optimization, and cost reduction initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Introduction (NPI) & Manufacturing Readiness

• Lead manufacturing introduction and industrialization activities for new products from development through production ramp.
• Develop and maintain product BOM structures and support engineering change orders (ECOs) for top-level assemblies.
• Define and implement product configurations, bundle options, CTO (Configure-to-Order), and BTS (Build-to-Stock) requirements.
• Validate first article builds and assesses manufacturing, configuration, and pack-out readiness.
• Coordinate product launch activities with R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, and manufacturing partners.
• Serve as the manufacturing representative throughout all phases of NPI and product ramp.

Factory Industrialization & Process Development

• Design and implement scalable manufacturing processes suitable for high-volume production.
• Define manufacturing process flows, operational requirements, and line layouts.
• Drive production line setup and factory readiness activities at contract manufacturing and ODM sites.
• Conduct time studies, line balancing analyses, and workflow optimization to improve throughput and efficiency.
• Develop manufacturing capacity models and ensure appropriate capacity is available at product release.
• Establish serialization, traceability, and labeling standards to support manufacturing operations.

Production Test & Equipment Implementation

• Define high-level production test equipment strategies and manufacturing test process flows.
• Specify, procure, and deploy manufacturing test equipment, fixtures, and product handling solutions.
• Support qualification and implementation of production test cells at manufacturing sites.
• Validate software loading, configuration management, usability, repeatability, and manufacturing test processes.
• Provide training and operational support on manufacturing test systems during NPI and ramp activities.

Product Quality & Sustaining Engineering

• Analyze manufacturing defects, yield issues, and product quality concerns.
• Investigate defective products and subassemblies using structured engineering methodologies.
• Partner with Design, Quality, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering teams to resolve product and process issues.
• Drive corrective actions to improve product quality, reliability, manufacturability, and yield.
• Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.
• Monitor production performance and implement process enhancements to support operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 4-6 years of experience in NPI, Product Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Engineering.
• Advanced English Level
• Strong experience supporting product introductions within contract manufacturing and/or ODM environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in manufacturing process development, factory readiness, and production ramp execution.
• Experience with BOM management, product configuration management, and ECO processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
