Position Summary:
The Marketing & Events Specialist is a key member of the marketing team, responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and measurement of integrated marketing campaigns and events. This role requires a highly organized individual with strong project management skills, a creative mindset, and a collaborative spirit. The successful candidate will possess a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work effectively with cross-functional teams (sales, vendors, etc.). This role will split responsibilities between event management, brand marketing, and general marketing/sales support.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Events:
- Develop, lead and execute comprehensive event strategies for tradeshows, conferences, corporate events, vertical summits, sales conferences, and other key initiatives.
- Manage all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, budget control, registration, and post-event reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, suppliers, etc.) to ensure alignment and successful event execution.
- Schedule and run weekly status update meetings to review event briefs, workback schedules, and event status with Stakeholders
- Track and manage event expenditures (6-7 figure budgets), providing regular reports and analysis to management.
- Identify and evaluate potential event opportunities to maximize brand exposure and ROI.
Brand Marketing:
- Develop and implement brand marketing strategies that align with the overall marketing plan and company objectives.
- Create compelling brand assets (e.g., marketing collateral, sales presentations, digital advertising materials, etc.) that strengthen brand awareness and drive customer engagement.
- Maintain brand consistency across all marketing channels.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform marketing decisions.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of brand marketing initiatives.
General Marketing & Sales Support
- Partner with sales leaders to understand industry needs, align on priorities, and deliver customized marketing programs and campaigns for sales growth
- Support the sales team with marketing materials and resources, such as sales sheets, presentations, and other collateral.
- Develop and manage email marketing campaigns, landing pages, and other digital marketing activities.
- Organize, update, and maintain marketing assets (e.g., one-sheets, sales presentations, etc.).
- Coordinate marketing activities with key suppliers and partners.
- Collaborate with sales leaders to define and track key success metrics for marketing programs and initiatives.
- Coordinate approval, ordering, and production of Vallen merchandise, interface with vendor as needed
- All other miscellaneous marketing support
Preferred Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, Business, or a related field
- At least 2–3 years of experience in marketing, corporate event management, or a related role
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%, including occasional overnight travel, and work outside standard business hours as needed to support events
- Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale corporate events, conferences, or trade shows; experience managing substantial event budgets is preferred
- Strong project management, organization, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience with marketing automation, email marketing, project management, registration, or event management platforms is preferred
- Basic design capabilities and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite are a plus
- Ability to travel as needed and occasionally work early mornings, evenings, or weekends to support events
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams, suppliers, vendors, and other external partners

- This position operates primarily in a professional office environment and requires extended periods of computer and keyboard use. The role also involves occasional travel and work at hotels, conference centers, trade-show facilities, and other event venues. Event schedules may occasionally require early mornings, evenings, or weekends.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate, sit, and use a computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk for extended periods, particularly during event setup and execution. The employee may occasionally be required to lift, carry, or move event materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
