Job Description

Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist is responsible for the managing of Sonic’s employee leave programs, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, and providing con tinuous support to employees during their leave.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Administration: Administer and manage various leave programs, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), short-term and long-term disability, PLOA, and other leave policies.

• Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws, including FMLA, ADA, and other relevant regulations.

• Case Management: Provide comprehensive case management for leave requests, including tracking documentation, monitoring leave status, and coordinating return to-work plans, monitoring third party vendor compliance.

• Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding leave inquiries, providing guidance on policies, documentation requirements, and the leave process.

• Collaboration: Work closely with HR, management, and external vendors to facilitate leave processes and ensure smooth operations.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of leave requests and ensure proper documentation is collected and stored in compliance with privacy regulations.

Qualifications

• Education: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.

• Experience: Previous experience in HR, benefits administration, or leave management is often preferred, with specific knowledge of FMLA and ADA regulations.

• Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills are essential, along with the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
