In this role, you will:
- Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
- Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5 + years supporting large-scale production systems across Linux, Windows, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Cloud, and enterprise middleware platforms
- 5+ years supporting application middleware and web platforms: Java, Tomcat, WebLogic, Apache, Spring, etc
- 4+ years designing, implementing, and operating enterprise observability solutions using logs, metrics, traces, alerting, and AIOps platforms
- 5+ years developing automation, tooling, APIs, or platform services using Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, or similar languages
- 3+ years implementing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, ARM/Bicep, GitOps) and CI/CD automation
- 3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies: PCF, Azure, AWS, GCP, Open Shift, etc
- 3+ years leading major incident response, root cause analysis, post-incident reviews, and reliability improvement programs
- 2+ years leveraging AIOps and operational analytics platforms to improve detection, correlation, and incident response automation
- Experience leveraging AI-powered engineering tools and platforms (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT/Copilot, Azure AI services, AIOps platforms, observability intelligence solutions) to accelerate software development, incident response, operational troubleshooting, documentation generation, and reliability engineering outcomes
- Experience defining and managing SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, and Error Budgets
- Experience leading cross-functional reliability initiatives
- Experience driving operational excellence and toil-reduction programs
- Experience conducting capacity planning and resiliency testing
- Experience mentoring engineers and establishing engineering standards
- Experience designing highly available cloud-native architectures
- Experience implementing automated remediation and self-healing solutions
