About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Risk Analytics Consultant within Corporate Risk supporting Home Lending. The position supports Home Lending Risk Management through portfolio analytics, risk oversight, and strategic guidance. The position is responsible for monitoring portfolio performance, identifying emerging risks, evaluating policy impacts, and delivering actionable insights to senior leadership and business partners. The role serves as a trusted advisor to Risk, Credit Policy, Finance, and Business stakeholders to ensure effective risk management and informed decision-making across the mortgage portfolio. In this role, you will:
  • Lead portfolio monitoring and risk analytics activities for Home Lending portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain recurring risk reporting, executive dashboards, and governance materials for senior leadership and risk committees.
  • Perform deep-dive analyses to identify portfolio trends, emerging risks, and key performance drivers.
  • Support credit policy assessments, strategy evaluations, and business initiatives through data-driven analysis and recommendations.
  • Provide analytical oversight for new product, policy, and process changes, including impact assessments and performance monitoring.
  • Partner with business, finance, credit policy, and risk teams to support strategic decision-making and risk management objectives.
  • Design and automate reporting processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and analytical capabilities.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into concise, executive-level communications and presentations.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from senior leaders and business partners related to portfolio performance, risk trends, and strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on mortgage portfolio analytics, risk drivers, and portfolio monitoring methodologies.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of experience in home lending analytics.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using large data sets to drive business insights.
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in SQL, SAS, and Python
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in BI tools like Tableau and PowerBI
  • Experience developing executive-level reporting, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Strong understanding of consumer lending, mortgage products, portfolio performance metrics, and risk management principles.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and communicate complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
