The Lateral Attorney Recruiting Specialist leads the day-to-day execution of lateral non-partner attorney searches, partnering with recruiting managers, attorneys, search firms, and candidates to deliver an efficient and exceptional recruiting experience. This role leads direct sourcing, manages candidate pipelines, coordinates search activities, and supports recruiting strategy for assigned departments.

Responsibilities

Search Operations & Talent Sourcing

  • Lead non-partner lateral attorney recruiting searches from position approval through onboarding.
  • Develop and execute direct sourcing strategies using Firm Prospects, LinkedIn Recruiter, legal directories, referrals, networking, and other sourcing tools.

Candidate Screening & Search Management

  • Review candidate materials and conduct initial recruiter conversations to assess qualifications, career interests, geographic preferences, compensation expectations, and overall alignment.
  • Manage candidate pipelines and coordinate interviews, evaluations, hiring materials, offers, and onboarding activities.

Search Firm & Candidate Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary operational contact for search firms throughout the recruiting process.
  • Build strong relationships that support efficient search execution and a positive candidate experience. 

Collaboration & Department Support

  • Provide guidance and support to the Lateral Attorney Recruiting Assistant on search priorities, scheduling, and administrative requirements.
  • Stay informed of legal recruiting trends, sourcing techniques, and technology.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with three or more years of attorney recruiting, legal recruiting, talent acquisition, or related experience, preferably within an Am Law 100 firm or comparable professional services organization.
  • Demonstrated experience with Firm Prospects, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other sourcing tools to identify, engage, and develop passive candidate pipelines.
  • Experience coordinating complex recruiting searches, managing candidate pipelines, and balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, Microsoft Office, and recruiting technologies, with a willingness to embrace innovative technology platforms.
  • Strong organizational, project management, communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
  • Sound judgment and discretion with the ability to maintain confidentiality and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Interest in using innovative AI technology, including Harvey and Copilot, to support efficient high-impact work.
