JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

At Astro, we put our people at the heart of everything we do. As part of the Learning & Talent team, you will contribute to creating meaningful learning experiences, supporting workforce development initiatives, and helping our employees continuously learn, grow and perform.

This internship offers hands-on exposure to learning operations, HR technology, employee development programmes, HRDC processes and learning transformation initiatives that support Astro's ambition to be Malaysia's leading entertainment company.

Your key responsibilities :

1. Learning Operations & Coordination

  • Coordinate monthly learning programmes, workshops and development initiatives.
  • Manage training logistics, participant registrations, venue arrangements and programme communications – attendance, completion rates, evaluation.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, facilitators and external training vendors to ensure smooth programme delivery – food arrangement, e-visitor, etc.
  • Support learning facility and training space management during programme execution – including calendar invites, venue booking and storage management
  • Support financial administration, including invoice requisition forms and monthly levy reports.
  • Maintain and update training materials, resources, and databases.
  • Oversee the learning facility management by keeping all resources, like equipment and technology, in good condition and finding ways to improve operations for a better learning environment
  • Support in Compliance Training topic preparation, deployment and reporting, and
  • Support in other special projects

2. Learning Systems & Digital Platforms

  • Support administration and maintenance of learning platforms including GO1, Articulate 360, SharePoint and Workday.
  • Assist in user support, learning content updates and system tracking activities.
  • Support adoption and utilisation initiatives for learning platforms and digital learning resources.

3. HRDC Administration & Reporting

  • Support HRDC grant applications, claims submissions, levy-related documentation, and tracking activities.
  • Maintain accurate learning records and documentation for compliance purposes.
  • Assist in preparing reports on training participation, learning hours, and programme outcomes.
  • Handle general administrative duties such as filing, record-keeping, and responding to inquiries.

4. Learning Communications & Engagement

  • Develop and coordinate employee communications related to learning programmes and initiatives through our platforms – email, newsletter, HRMS, etc.
  • Create simple communication materials using tools such as Canva and Microsoft 365.
  • Support initiatives aimed at improving learning participation and employee engagement.

5. Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows and simplify administrative processes.
  • Explore digital solutions, automation opportunities and AI-enabled tools to enhance team efficiency.
  • Support initiatives related to LMS transformation, HRMS (Workday) optimisation and Skills Framework projects.

Your qualifications

Requirements

  • Final year student / Undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Human Resource Management, Psychology, Communications, Marketing or related disciplines.
  • Available for internship placement of at least 4-6 months.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Able to balance operational excellence while understanding the bigger picture.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft 365 applications.\

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
  • Experience with Excel dashboards, reporting or automation.
  • Experience managing events, projects or student organisations.
  • Experience creating communication materials using Canva.
