Our challenge

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Java Developer / Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) with expertise in enterprise application development, customer-facing solution delivery, and AI-assisted software engineering using tools such as Devin AI. The ideal candidate will work closely with customers, product teams, and engineering organizations to design, customize, deploy, and optimize mission-critical applications while leveraging AI-driven development workflows. The role requires a blend of software engineering, solution architecture, client engagement, and hands-on development to solve complex business challenges and accelerate software delivery.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $125k - $145k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of enterprise Java applications.
  • Architect and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions using modern Java technologies.
  • Develop and maintain microservices-based applications using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
  • Work directly with clients to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Deploy, configure, and operationalize Devin AI across software engineering teams.
  • Build proof-of-concepts (POCs), prototypes, and production-grade applications using AI-assisted development methodologies.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on Java development experience.
  • Strong expertise in Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Hibernate/JPA, RESTful APIs, Microservices Architecture, Multithreading and Concurrent Programming.
  • Hands-on experience working with Devin AI for software development workflows.
  • Ability to leverage Devin for Code generation and enhancement
  • Design Patterns and SOLID Principles.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted software engineering platforms.
  • Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
  • Knowledge of Kafka or other messaging platforms.
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise transformations and modernization projects.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP) are a plus.
  • Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Healthcare, Telecom, or Retail domains.
