The opportunity

We are mid-way through implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 and we need an owner for it on the Finance side — through go-live and, critically, after it. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is accountable for making D365 the backbone of how Finance operates: configured correctly, adopted fully, continuously improved, and extended to each acquired business as we grow.

This is a hybrid of finance process knowledge, systems depth and project leadership. You will lead the finance workstream of the implementation, own the platform afterward, bring each acquisition onto it, and keep us current on what the platform — and the AI tooling emerging around it — can do. You will work closely with IT, which owns the infrastructure and data connections, and with our Director of Data Analytics on reporting. The role grows with the footprint: more modules, more entities, more automation.

What you'll do

Dynamics 365 implementation and ownership

• Lead the finance and accounting workstream of the D365 implementation: requirements, design decisions, configuration, testing, data migration validation, cutover and training, working alongside IT and our implementation partner.

• After go-live, own the platform for Finance: enhancements, release management, security roles, the support model and issue resolution.

• Drive adoption — the system only pays off if close, consolidation, AP, AR and inventory processes actually run in it.

Module expansion and staying best in class

• Evaluate, recommend and integrate additional modules and ISV solutions as the business matures: fixed assets, expense, close management, consolidation, planning.

• Stay current on the Microsoft roadmap and partner ecosystem; bring forward what is worth adopting and what is not.

Reporting and data partnership

• Ensure finance reports and the data behind them are right at go-live: define what Finance needs, validate outputs, and own the reporting requirements from the Finance side.

• Partner with the Director of Data Analytics on the finance reporting layer and with IT on integrations and data connections; Finance defines, IT and Analytics build.

• Own master data standards for Finance across entities and brands: chart of accounts, dimensions, vendors, customers and items.

AI and workflow automation

• Identify and pilot AI-enabled workflow improvements across Finance: Copilot and agent-based tools, invoice and document processing, reconciliation automation, Power Platform and RPA.

• Scale what works into standard process; retire what does not.

Acquisition onboarding

• Build and run a repeatable playbook for bringing acquired companies onto D365 — chart-of-accounts mapping, data conversion, training and cutover — as we grow.

• Partner with the Accounting Manager and corporate development on integration timelines and sequencing.

Vendor and partner management

• Manage the implementation partner, ISV vendors and finance-side licensing; hold them to scope, timeline and service levels.

First-year priorities

1. Finance workstream of the D365 implementation delivered on plan through go-live, with a documented post-go-live support model.

2. Finance master data standards in place across all entities ahead of cutover.

3. Finance reports validated and working at go-live, in partnership with Data Analytics.

4. First acquisition onboarded to D365 using a documented playbook.

5. At least one AI or automation pilot moved into production with measured savings.

Qualifications

What you bring

Required

• 5+ years in finance systems, ERP or related roles, including at least one full-lifecycle Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance implementation with post-go-live ownership.

• Strong working knowledge of core finance processes — close, consolidation, intercompany, AP, AR, inventory — and how they are configured in D365.

• Hands-on experience with data migration and master data management.

• Proven project leadership across business users, IT and implementation partners.

• Clear communicator who can translate between accountants, operators and technical teams.

Preferred

• Accounting background (degree or CPA) or consulting experience with a Microsoft implementation partner.

• Experience applying AI tools (Copilot, agents, document AI, RPA) to finance workflows.

• Power Platform, Power BI and Dataverse familiarity.

• Multi-entity, multi-brand environments and migrating acquired businesses onto a common platform.

• Distribution or inventory-intensive industry experience.

• Private-equity-backed company experience.

Who thrives here

We hire people who are customer-obsessed, act as one team across every brand, are growth-minded, entrepreneurial and urgent — the values every BSS employee shares. On the Finance team specifically, we look for builders: driven, intellectually curious people who are competitive, work hard and are motivated by challenge, growth and winning. They take ownership, roll up their sleeves, contest the status quo and keep looking for a better way to operate. They are confident team players who communicate clearly, develop the people around them and thrive in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment. If you are energized by improving an organization rather than maintaining one — and your ambitions run well past this role — you will fit here.

How success is measured

A D365 go-live that Finance runs its processes in from day one; finance reports that are right and trusted at launch; acquisitions onboarded faster each time; and a measurable reduction in manual work across the finance organization.
