Pay Scale: $100k-$103k
Summary:
A Director of Nursing (DON) oversees nursing staff, manages patient care quality, and ensures compliance with healthcare regulations while leading the nursing department strategically.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leadership and management of all FBC nursing staff. Direct and supervise all FBC nursing staff, including indirect administrative responsibility for Centralized nursing staff. Responsible to monitor, maintain and ensure standards of patient care. Establish, implement, and update nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care to comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives, participate in facility surveys, and collaborate with committees to address deficiencies and enhance patient outcomes. Develop long and short term goals for the nursing department to align nursing services with organizational objectives and contribute to overall healthcare facility strategy. Provide 24/7 consultation to nursing staff. Pharmacy coordination and oversight.
- Participates in regularly scheduled oversight meetings to consult on and update the Medical Director and Chief Program Officer on nurses' status/issues. Participate in budgeting and planning activities.
- Remains updated on current nursing trends/ policies/ procedures and ensures all FBC nurses and medication aides are up to date.
- Provides direct nursing services when needed due to vacancies or emergencies.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
Special Attributes: Strong psychosocial, clinical assessment skills. Minimal supervision regarding use of time, able to prioritize work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively with professions and clients/families. Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly responsible for administrative supervision of all FBC Nurses and indirect supervision to FBC Centralized nurses. Assist with direct clinical supervision of nursing and med tech staff. Provides input to CPO and center directors on administrative issues involving nursing staff.

Education and/or Experience: Licensed as RN in NC with minimum of BSN, MSN preferred. Prefer four years of experience in psychiatric nursing with minimum of 3 years supervisor/management experience. Actual work experience will be considered in addition to other requirement.
