The Enterprise Risk and Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting Avant’s risk management and assurance programs. The position requires both an understanding of compliance frameworks and is responsible for the planning and design of policies and process maintenance in addition to evaluation of internal and external partners against Avant’s various control frameworks.

 

The ideal candidate is technical and possesses at least three years of experience in  compliance or risk assessment or risk management. The role oversees the business’ requirements and obligations mandated by standards and regulations such as the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) among other financial industry frameworks. In tandem with senior leadership, the Enterprise Risk and Compliance analyst consistently assesses and validates the assurance of internal risk management programs. As a primary point of contact for internal and external auditors, the  Enterprise Risk and Compliance  analyst monitors progress and enforces remediation of outstanding issues that may lead to non-compliance or unacceptable risks to the business. As a key member of the risk team, the  Enterprise Risk and Compliance  analyst must focus on holistic risk management and not be driven solely by compliance.


What you’ll do at Avant

  • Conduct enterprise-wide, ongoing risk analysis and evidence collection in tandem to support programs in enterprise risk and internal audit.

  • Develop and maintain risk register and evidence archive in the Avant GRC platform.

  • Document, formulate and track remediation activities that balance risk with business operations and do not diminish efficiencies or innovation in the business.

  • Analyze assessment findings, document, recommend and report remediation plans to senior leadership.

  • Facilitate incident response and disaster recovery exercise processes, catalog improvements and gap resolution, maintain documentation and reporting.  

  • Work in tandem with the business, internal audit and risk management leadership to perform ongoing internal program assessments .

  • Attend and fully engage in change management meetings.

  • Liaison with auditors, both internal and external, to attest and implement controls for compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Why you’re a fit at Avant

  • At least 3+ years’ experience in risk management, public accounting, or compliance roles within the financial services industry.

  • Knowledge of risk management best practices and compliance responsibilities. 

  • Experience and understanding of various regulatory requirements and laws, including experience in one or more of the following: ISO 27001/2, ITIL or FFIEC, FDIC Regulatory Frameworks

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and proven ability to translate compliance and risk matters to business language.

  • Track record of acting with integrity, taking pride in work, seeking to excel, being curious and adaptable, and communicating effectively.

  • Prior experience operating in a GRC system.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities, and ability to manage complex federal and state regulatory requirements.

  • Self-motivated, directed and well-organized.

  • Successful track record of managing relationships with external entities and mitigating risks in business development opportunities.

  • Highly trustworthy; leads by example.

  • Bachelor’s degree in information assurance, MIS or related field, Risk Management or a business-related field or equivalent industry experience

This role is based on our downtown Chicago Office, located in the Merchandise Mart. We highly value collaboration and our hybrid schedule (M, T, Th in-office) enables flexibility to balance work and individual priorities.

Compensation Range:

The base salary range for this job is USD $55,000 - USD $85,000 / Year

Employees new to Avant typically come in below the midpoint of the pay range. The compensation range is based on the level outlined in the job posting, and compensation decisions are dependent on each applicant's experience, skills and abilities.

This role is eligible for additional incentives, including an annual bonus. These rewards are allocated based on level, impact and performance in the role.
