Cloud & Data EngineeringOur Company

We’re Hitachi Digital Services, a global digital solutions and transformation business with a bold vision of our world’s potential. We’re people-centric and here to power good. Every day, we future-proof urban spaces, conserve natural resources, protect rainforests, and save lives. This is a world where innovation, technology, and deep expertise come together to take our company and customers from what’s now to what’s next. We make it happen through the power of acceleration.

Imagine the sheer breadth of talent it takes to bring a better tomorrow closer to today. We don’t expect you to ‘fit’ every requirement – your life experience, character, perspective, and passion for achieving great things in the world are equally as important to us.

Job description

You will lead client engagements that take enterprises from AI ambition to agents in production. You own the client relationship, the architecture direction and the business outcome, and you lead a small senior team of architects, engineers and consultants. Engagements start in consulting mode – assess, shape, prototype – and move to delivery once the use case is proven.

What you will do:

Discover and shape

• Align executive sponsors on goals, success measures, scope and decision rights.

• Assess the client's data, analytics and AI landscape: platforms, data readiness, semantics, governance and operating model.

• Shape a portfolio of agent use cases by value, data readiness and risk; recommend where to start.

• Steer a working prototype and make the build-vs-buy calls across hyperscaler, lakehouse, open-source and partner options.

• Present a clear go / no-go with scope, team, plan and value case for delivery.

Deliver

• Act as design authority for the data, context and agent architecture.

• Run delivery governance: plan, RAID, status, steering committees and change control.

• Own the value case: baseline, KPIs and the readout of results against baseline.

• Ensure security, identity, entitlements, evaluations and human approval are in place before agents act on business systems.

• Coach the team and grow the relationship through evidence-based next steps.

Mandatory Experience and Skills to bring:

• 15+ years in data, analytics and AI, including 5+ years leading client-facing programs for large enterprises.

• Hands-on architecture depth on Databricks or similar (Unity Catalog, Genie, Mosaic AI / Agent Bricks, MLflow) and at least one hyperscaler (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud).

• At least one GenAI or agent solution taken into production, with evaluation, guardrails and access controls.

• Strong grasp of semantic layers, business glossaries, ontologies and knowledge graphs, and how agents use them through tools and MCP.

• Executive presence: you frame choices for senior leaders and get decisions made.

• Commercial judgment in scoping, estimation and change control.

Nice to have experience & skills:

• Manufacturing, automotive or supply-chain industry experience.

• Databricks or cloud professional certifications.

• Experience with agent observability, AI FinOps, agent registries or gateways.

• Prior consulting or professional-services leadership.
