Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Telecom Dispute Analyst to join our team. This role requires strong telecom dispute knowledge, including CABS, intercarrier billing, access charges, and billing variance analysis. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with telecom tariffs, contracts, and dispute workflows, with the ability to manage complex, high-impact cases while meeting deadlines and service-level expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate telecom-related customer, vendor, or carrier disputes by reviewing billing records, tariffs, contracts, switch data, and supporting documentation.
  • Analyze CABS invoices, access charges, usage records, LD/IXC billing, and intercarrier settlement details to determine dispute validity and financial impact.
  • Review, interpret, and apply FCC tariffs, PUC tariffs, and contractual agreements to validate charges and support dispute positions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (billing operations, network, finance, carrier relations, vendor management) to resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare detailed case summaries, financial analyses, and recommendations for dispute outcomes.
  • Process approved adjustments, credits, or escalations based on telecom billing standards and policy requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with audit, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
  • Identify recurring dispute trends; present findings and partner with leadership on process improvements.
  • Manage dispute queues while meeting turnaround times (TAT), SLA requirements, and quality targets.
  • Support system enhancements, workflow updates, and training for telecom dispute processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Telecommunications, or related field (preferred but not required with equivalent telecom experience).
  • Telecom dispute knowledge is a must, including access billing, intercarrier compensation, and billing variance investigation.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with CABS (Carrier Access Billing System) including analysis of carrier invoices, access charges, and usage discrepancies.
  • Must have experience with Telecom FCC tariffs, PUC tariffs, and contractual agreements, with the ability to interpret rate structures, rules, and billing requirements.
  • 2+ years of experience in dispute resolution, telecom billing analysis, revenue assurance, or intercarrier operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables) and data analysis/reporting tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret carrier contracts, rate decks, service agreements, and regulatory filings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with telecom billing or mediation systems preferred (e.g., TEOCO, Ericsson, Oracle, SAP, or other industry platforms).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
