General Description:
The Director, Quality Project Portfolio Coordinator, reporting to Head of Quality Excellence, will be responsible for driving the strategic execution and oversight of the GxP Continuous Improvement (CI) / Operational Excellence (OE) project portfolio for Global Quality department, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities quality objectives, and quality processes operational efficiency. This role will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive impactful CI/OE projects to enhance BeiGene GxP processes and overall business performance.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, excellent communicator, results-driven leader, and problem solver with a strong background in portfolio management, continuous improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, Agile), and cross-functional collaboration.
Essential Functions of the job:
Strategic Portfolio & Project Governance
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define, prioritize, and coordinate the Continuous Improvement (CI) / Operational Excellence (OE) project portfolio in alignment with business goals and quality objectives.
- Establish and oversee the end-to-end project intake, prioritization, and approval process, ensuring strategic value and return on investment (ROI).
- Develop and maintain tools for portfolio visibility, progress tracking, and performance reporting.
Resource Management & Optimization
- Manage resource allocation across multiple projects, ensuring optimal use of personnel, budget, and technology.
- Identify resource gaps and work with department leaders to address staffing and capability needs.
- Implement risk assessment and mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including executives, project leaders, and third-party partners.
- Lead project review meetings, reporting on project status, risks, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide guidance and coaching to Project Leaders to ensure successful execution and timely milestone achievement.
Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure portfolio performance and individual project success.
- Leverage Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, Agile to optimize operational efficiency and quality processes.
- Partner cross-functionally to identify, design, and implement CI initiatives that drive business transformation and operational excellence.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Individual contributor, operating and reporting in a matrixed team, using strong technical and leadership experience to influence Quality leaders and staff without direct authority
Computer Skills:
- Strong PC literacy
- Experience with project management software such as, Smartsheet
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in GxP pharma or biotech or highly regulated industry
- 5+ years’ experience in Project Portfolio Management, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence.
- Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar project portfolios
- Ability to align project portfolios with business strategy and quality initiatives.
- Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement, executive reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong expertise with portfolio management tools (e.g., JIRA, Smartsheet, MS Project, ServiceNow).
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments.
- Understanding of the following methodologies: PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, Agile, or other Continuous Improvement frameworks.
- Experience in digital transformation, process automation, or operational scale-ups is a plus.
- Background in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries is a plus.

Salary Range: $169,400.00 - $229,400.00 annually

Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. Packages may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor. The recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for a preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
