Position Summary

We are seeking a Director of Procurement with strong substation procurement experience to lead strategic sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management for major utility-scale electrical and T&D projects. This role will oversee procurement strategy for high-value substation equipment and materials while ensuring cost, quality, schedule, and contract requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead procurement strategy for substation and T&D equipment, materials, and services.
  • Manage sourcing and supplier relationships for transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays, steel, bus, protection & control, and related equipment.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, delivery schedules, and supplier agreements.
  • Develop and maintain a qualified supplier network and identify new strategic vendors.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Project Management, Construction, and Finance.
  • Manage procurement schedules, long-lead equipment, expediting, and supplier performance.
  • Establish procurement processes, controls, and KPIs.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of procurement experience, with significant experience supporting substation/T&D projects.
  • Strong knowledge of substation equipment, manufacturers, suppliers, and industry standards.
  • Experience negotiating major equipment and material contracts.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, long-lead procurement activities.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Utility-scale EPC, electrical construction, or renewable energy experience strongly preferred.
