About the role

SolarWinds is seeking a Global Growth Marketing Specialist to lead trial activation and conversion for our Database portfolio. You will help turn free-trial users into active product evaluators and, ultimately, customers by making it easier for them to reach product value and by improving the trial-to-customer journey.

This is a highly analytical, experiment-driven role at the intersection of marketing, product, revenue operations, and sales. You will own the trial nurture strategy, use behavioral and performance data to identify opportunities, and run tests that improve activation and conversion.

What you’ll doLead trial nurture and activation
  • Own the lifecycle marketing strategy for Database trials, from signup through activation, evaluation, and purchase.

  • Segment trial users based on profile, product usage, and in-product behavior; develop personalized programs that encourage meaningful product adoption.

  • Partner with Product and Content teams to create timely, useful guidance that reduces setup friction and helps users experience product value sooner.

  • Identify where users stall or abandon the trial and develop targeted interventions to bring them back to evaluation.

Improve conversion through experimentation
  • Build and execute a hypothesis-driven testing roadmap across the trial journey, including landing pages, signup flows, pricing pages, nurture programs, and in-product calls to action.

  • Define test plans, success measures, and learning agendas; analyze results and apply findings to future campaigns and experiences.

  • Develop and test trial-extension approaches, including when to offer an extension and how to prioritize users who need more evaluation time.

  • Establish engagement and intent signals that identify sales-qualified trial users, then partner with Sales on timely, relevant follow-up.

Own measurement and insights
  • Track and report on trial performance, including trial-to-customer conversion, activation and feature adoption, trial duration, abandonment, and acquisition efficiency.

  • Partner with Revenue Operations and Product teams to improve data quality, event tracking, and measurement across CRM, marketing automation, and product analytics systems.

  • Use quantitative and qualitative insights—including web analytics, product analytics, and user feedback—to diagnose friction, prioritize opportunities, and shape new growth hypotheses.

  • Build clear reporting and communicate performance, learnings, and recommendations to cross-functional partners.

What you’ll bring
  • 5+ years of experience in growth marketing, demand generation, lifecycle marketing, or a related discipline in B2B SaaS or enterprise software.

  • A track record of improving free-trial, free-tool, or demo-funnel activation and conversion through measurable marketing initiatives.

  • Experience designing and analyzing experiments, including A/B tests, with the ability to turn results into practical next steps.

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with large datasets, dashboards, and web or product analytics.

  • Experience with marketing automation and CRM platforms such as Marketo, Salesforce, or Outreach.

  • Familiarity with product analytics tools such as Pendo, Amplitude, or Mixpanel, and experimentation platforms such as Optimizely or VWO.

  • Experience with landing-page or personalization platforms such as Hushly or Mutiny, and digital advertising platforms such as Google, Microsoft/Bing, LinkedIn, or 6sense, is beneficial.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with Product, Sales, Revenue Operations, Content, and Engineering.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical product capabilities into clear, value-focused messaging for technical audiences.

Preferred
  • Experience marketing to database professionals or familiarity with database products and their buyers.

  • Experience with GA4, Adobe Analytics, Tableau, or comparable analytics and reporting tools.

How you’ll work
  • Experimenter: You take a scientific, hypothesis-led approach, learn quickly from results, and use evidence to guide decisions.

  • Translator: You make complex product capabilities understandable and relevant to technical audiences.

  • Owner: You take accountability for outcomes, monitor your metrics, and proactively pursue opportunities to improve revenue impact.

  • Collaborator: You bring Product, Sales, Engineering, and Marketing partners together to deliver a coherent trial experience.
