Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities
- Build relationships with distributors, retailers
- Conduct market analysis to adapt global strategies to local consumer preferences
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance) to ensure culturally relevant execution
- Market Entry Strategy: Lead feasibility studies for new product launches or geographic expansions, incorporating local consumer insights, regulatory frameworks, and competitive landscapes
- Design localized go-to-market strategies that respect cultural, economic, and infrastructural differences across African regions
- Stakeholder Engagement: Negotiate partnerships with local distributors and agencies to address logistical challenges
- Data-Driven Decision-Making: Analyze sales performance, market share, and consumer feedback
- Risk Mitigation: Assess political, economic, and supply chain risks in volatile markets (e.g., currency fluctuations, trade barriers) and propose contingency plans
- Reporting & Accountability: Collecting and preparing reports on progress toward goals
- Track KPIs and apply market KPIs to track accountability
- Address and resolve supply chain disruptions caused by geopolitical instability
- Address and resolve disagreements with local partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, Economics, or related field or equivalent practical experience
- Fluency in English & French
- 3+ years in business development, sales, or market expansion in Africa
- Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience in FMCG/F&B
- Negotiation skills
- Communication skills
- Ability to travel
