This temporary position is located at 1915 Health Services Way, Raleigh, NC 27607- Wake County, with the Department of Health and Human Services.   

 
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $30.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).  
 
Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification.  The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants. 

Management Preferences:  

  • Monitoring, maintaining and providing budgeting and financial accountability for SWTCIE grant.
  • Operate under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Possess excellent attention to detail, verbal/written communication abilities, and organizational skills.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues using analytical skills and coordinate information requests by assessing and interpreting Office of State Budget and Management policies
  • Federal/ State regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to ensure compliance.
  • Understand of the North Carolina Financial System (NCFS) and its reporting tools, the Integrated Budget Information System (IBIS)
  • Independently maintain the authorized budget during budget preparation and execution by reviewing, processing and projecting expenditures and realigning the budget accordingly.
  • Review and correct expenditures charged to a program based on allowable costs and period of performance guidelines.
  • Interact with DHHS staff and federal partners when completing financial reports and assisting with budget inquiries.
  • Implement corrective action plans.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in business administration, public administration, accounting, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
