JOB TITLE: Manager, Marketing Data Analytics
Position Summary:
Join athenahealth’s Marketing Operations team as a Manager, Marketing Data Analytics—a highly impactful individual contributor role focused on building and scaling trusted marketing performance insights. This role owns the end-to-end development of marketing analytics solutions, from raw data modeling to executive reporting, helping drive growth in a B2B healthcare SaaS environment. You will simplify and standardize a complex analytics ecosystem, ensuring consistent, reliable, and actionable insights across stakeholders. This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Marketing Data Analytics.
About the Team:
The Marketing Operations team enables data-driven decision making across athenahealth’s Marketing organization by developing scalable analytics, reporting, and performance frameworks. The team partners closely with Marketing, Sales, Finance, IT, and Data Engineering to align on go-to-market performance, pipeline measurement, and reporting standards. They manage a broad analytics ecosystem spanning CRM, marketing automation, and enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake and Power BI. The team’s mission is to improve the quality, consistency, and accessibility of insights that drive business growth.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Own the delivery of marketing analytics solutions end-to-end, including requirements gathering, SQL development, data modeling, dashboarding, QA, and stakeholder rollout
Develop and maintain scalable datasets and reporting tables in Snowflake to support funnel performance, campaign measurement, and pipeline generation
Build and manage Power BI semantic models and dashboards using strong data modeling practices (facts, dimensions, relationships, and grain)
Standardize KPI definitions and reporting logic across Marketing, Sales, and Finance to ensure consistency and alignment
Analyze marketing performance across the funnel, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders
Reverse-engineer and rationalize legacy dashboards and datasets, eliminating duplication and improving data quality and documentation
Partner with IT, Data Engineering, and BI developers to improve data pipelines, validate outputs, and ensure business accuracy
Additional Job Responsibilities:
Support ad hoc analysis and executive reporting requests across campaigns, segments, and regions
Collaborate with offshore or distributed BI development teams by providing technical specifications and QA oversight
Promote best practices in SQL development, data modeling, and BI design across the organization
Contribute to cross-functional initiatives focused on data governance, reporting standardization, and analytics maturity
Drive adoption of governed datasets and reusable data products to reduce one-off reporting
Participate in ongoing process improvements to enhance data quality and reporting efficiency
Expected Education & Experience:
6+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or analytics engineering roles
Advanced SQL expertise, including building and optimizing datasets in Snowflake or similar platforms
Strong experience with Power BI (or similar BI tools), including data modeling, DAX, and dashboard development
Demonstrated experience working with complex or legacy data environments and improving data quality and consistency
Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (fact and dimension tables, joins, grain, aggregation)
Experience working with CRM and/or marketing data (e.g., Salesforce, marketing automation platforms)
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and explain insights to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred:
Experience in B2B SaaS, healthcare technology, or revenue-focused analytics environments
Familiarity with marketing funnel metrics (lead lifecycle, MQLs, pipeline, bookings)
Exposure to marketing attribution models (first-touch, multi-touch, campaign influence)
Experience collaborating with offshore or distributed development teams
Familiarity with modern data tools or workflows (e.g., dbt, Git, Python, Airflow, Azure DevOps)
Expected Compensation
$88,000 - $150,000The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
