Job Description
BAE Systems is offering an exciting opportunity to support an important and dynamic Department of Justice customer as a .Net Software Developer supporting a highly capable and diverse team driving technical innovation. The successful candidate should independently be able to develop and code software solutions that provide needed capabilities in support of customer mission related activities. The .Net Software Developer will design, implement, and maintain Web based applications or system solutions based on customer-driven requirements.
The .Net Software Developer will:
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Provide instruction, guidance, and prepare both program-level and user-level documentation.
  • Translate detailed design into computer software.
  • Test, debug, and refine computer software to produce the required product.
  • Enhance software to reduce operating times or improve efficiency; and
  • Provide full life cycle support for software including user interaction.
  • May provide technical direction to programmers to ensure program deadlines are met.

Functional Responsibilities: Designing, maintaining, and implementing software designed around a specific set of requirements or to use particular methodologies required to meet specific procedural requirements. The Software Developer shall design software tools that include system calls to other third-party tools and utilities specified. The Software Developer shall design, maintain, and implement original software applications from a high level, non-specific set of concepts provided by the government. The Software Developer shall develop software, and application of large and complex software and systems, and web-based query and reporting systems.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Minimum Education:
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Information Systems, or related field of study, or in lieu of education, three (3) additional years of relevant experience.
Minimum/General Experience:
  1. Two (2) or more years of experience as a software developer in building multi-tier framework software applications using object-oriented programming languages, specifically C#.
  2. One (1) or more years of experience with cloud (Azure preferred) application development and management preferred
  3. Experience developing SOAP and REST APIs in a client/server environment.
  4. Experience developing, debugging and/or refactoring code for popular programming languages (i.e., C#, etc.).
  5. Identifying technical strategies to interconnect disparate software applications by authoring original software programs
  6. Experience with scripting command line tools to automate command tasks.
  7. Knowledge of object-relational mapping (ORM).
  8. Knowledge of web-related technologies HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS.
  9. Experience with any major database (e.g., PostgreSQL, or SQL Server).
  10. Designing and authoring original software applications from a high level, non-specific set of concepts provided.
  11. Writing programs that achieve a desired outcome or workflow from nothing more than observation of desired outcomes, workflows, or from vague original concepts.
  12. Systems designing, policy development, and database development and management, and user interface development .

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Desired Skills and Experience:
Multiple programming languages necessary to meet a diverse set of requirements. The Contractor must be familiar with a variety of scripts, programming languages, and operating systems. Examples of relevant computer programming languages currently used to design and deploy components that include, but are not limited to:
  • React - Typescript
  • C# - ASP.NET and .NET Core
  • PostgreSQL
  • Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • GitLab - CI/CD and Issue Tracking
  • HTML5
  • JavaScript
  • CSS
  • Microservices Architecture
  • Some Systems Engineering experience desired, not required

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $83900 - $142600
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
