Job Title: Accountant
Reports To: Controller
Location: Colfax, NC or Conover, NC (Multi-site: Tenn-Tex Plastics & Pan American Screw)
Position Summary:
Responsible for reconciling and adjusting a variety of general ledger accounts while performing moderately complex financial analysis. This role consolidates, analyzes, and interprets accounting and financial data to support the preparation of accurate financial statements and reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor bank activity for ACH transactions; initiate, record, and process ACH, wire transfers, and check runs.
- Post Accounts Payable transactions accurately and timely.
- Manage daily Accounts Receivable activity, including invoicing, payment posting, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and enter journal entries; perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations and upload financial data to the corporate database.
- Analyze revenue and expense activity to ensure proper monthly recording and alignment with financial standards.
- Oversee AFE tracking, fixed asset reconciliations, and physical inventory processes.
- Prepare and distribute the daily sales report.
- Assist in monthly financial statement analysis and report on budget-to-actual variances.
- Calculate and process monthly commissions.
- Review and process employee expense reports.
- Provide financial reports and analysis upon request from leadership and Marmon Corporate Finance.
- Support compliance with leverage spend initiatives.
- Assist with internal audits and ensure timely completion of audit requests.
- Prepare monthly metrics reports for the Company President.
- Process OneStream uploads and flow forms.
- Generate and distribute 1099 forms.
- File monthly and quarterly state tax reports.
- Perform additional projects and tasks as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to collaborate and provide hands-on support.
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Epicor Kinetic or similar ERP preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
