Job Description

The Account Executive, Communities is responsible for driving fiber expansion and new revenue growth throughout an assigned territory by developing strategic partnerships with developers, property owners, builders, multifamily ownership groups, property management companies, and other key stakeholders.

This is a consultative, quota-carrying sales role focused on identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing agreements that expand Brightspeed’s fiber footprint across Multi-Dwelling Units (MDU), Single-Family Home (SFH), and New Build communities.

Success in this role requires a proactive hunter mentality, strong executive presence, disciplined pipeline management, and the ability to position Brightspeed as a long-term strategic infrastructure partner. The ideal candidate combines business acumen, financial understanding, and consultative selling skills to influence decision makers, solve business challenges, and create long-term customer partnerships.

What You’ll Own

  • Develop and execute a territory growth strategy designed to maximize fiber expansion and revenue generation.
  • Prospect for new business through networking, referrals, market intelligence, industry events, cold outreach, and strategic account planning.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with developers, builders, ownership groups, property management companies, HOAs, consultants, and executive decision makers.
  • Lead the complete sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through proposal development, contract negotiation, execution, and implementation.
  • Conduct executive-level discovery conversations to understand customer business objectives, operational priorities, resident experience goals, and long-term asset strategies.
  • Present compelling business cases that clearly communicate financial value, return on investment, and the advantages of Brightspeed’s fiber solutions.
  • Negotiate and close Exclusive Marketing Agreements, Bulk Agreements, SmartMDU opportunities, Building Access Agreements, Right-of-Entry agreements, and other strategic partnership contracts.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Construction, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Success teams to deliver seamless customer execution.
  • Monitor project milestones and construction timelines to ensure successful deployments and first occupancy readiness.
  • Position Brightspeed effectively in competitive environments through strong market knowledge and strategic differentiation.
  • Represent Brightspeed professionally at industry events, customer meetings, and within the local real estate and development community.

  • Consistently achieve and exceed assigned sales, contract, and unit goals.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales funnel through disciplined prospecting and opportunity creation.
  • Develop trusted relationships with executive decision makers and become their preferred strategic advisor.
  • Consistently identify and close high-value Bulk, SmartMDU, Exclusive Marketing, and Building Access opportunities.
  • Deliver accurate forecasting, CRM discipline, and pipeline management.
  • Demonstrate strong executive presentation skills and confidently communicate Brightspeed’s value proposition.
  • Prioritize strategic opportunities that maximize long-term fiber growth within your territory.
  • Take ownership of your territory, operate with urgency, and maintain accountability for results.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related experience.
  • 3-5+ years of consultative B2B sales experience with a proven record of exceeding sales goals.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business through strategic prospecting and hunting activities.
  • Strong executive presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders throughout complex sales cycles.
  • Business and financial acumen with the ability to simplify ROI, pricing strategies, and long-term partnership value.
  • Strong organizational skills with disciplined pipeline management and forecasting accuracy.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Experience managing CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout an assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling fiber, broadband, telecommunications, technology infrastructure, or related solutions.
  • Experience working with multifamily housing, real estate developers, home builders, or commercial real estate organizations.
  • Experience negotiating commercial agreements and strategic partnerships.
  • Knowledge of new construction, development lifecycles, or community infrastructure projects.
  • Experience presenting to executives, ownership groups, or investment stakeholders.
