What's It Like to Work at Flatiron Health?

Flatiron Health Employee Perspectives

"Be kind” is a core value — and what we look for in candidates. I am more interested in accepting someone who is maybe not spiking on their algorithms, but they’re able to pass their ability to code, think through problems, and they’re a great communicator — that’s actually more interesting to me, and more valuable to us than someone who is really good at optimizing C++ code, but struggles to communicate their great ideas to others. I also think it’s how you lead in what you model and what you encourage. We’re very lucky to have a really strong people-first leadership in engineering and across the company.

Flatiron Health Employee Reviews

One of Flatiron’s values is ‘be kind’ and it really shows in our culture. Everyone here is incredibly kind and genuine. There is a lot of interest in you as a person and how you want to grow, not just what needs to get done tactically for the next phase of the project.

Our learn, teach, and grow philosophy is a core part of Flatiron that I find a lot of value in. From honing my technical craft alongside more experienced engineers to working on stretch projects that challenge me-I am constantly motivated to grow myself and those who come after me.

My favorite part about Flatiron is the people. My colleagues across varying teams and countries are not only smart and passionate about their work, but also kind. I feel extremely lucky to get to work with them.

The scientific talent at Flatiron is truly unmatched, in my opinion, and there are so many opportunities for interesting collaborative research. It is invigorating to work with such a high concentration of prolific data scientists who are resourced specifically to tackle some of the most difficult and pressing challenges in cancer care today.
